What are the rough total prices if I wanted to get a brand new customs set instead? Mage? Legacy?

Hi guys,

Been a while since I've been out of the entire IEM scene. Was clearing my drawer and found my old "disintegrating" UE TF10. Tried it and it's still working. Is it advisable to reshell seeing that it hasn't been used for like 2 years or so.

On top of that, I have a UE SF3 which I have no idea if it still works. Is it also possible to take the driver from the UE SF3 and add it to the UE TF10 when I reshell? Would there be a difference in sound?

I tried looking for the pricing for UM's reshelling services but can't find it. Or perhaps I'm not looking hard enough. But any assistance would be great.

Thanks!

Supposedly prices for reshell should be up on Stereo's website, iirc it should be $2xx. Best to head down stereo, and decide if you want to reshell or purchase an entire new iem.

Thanks for the reply.

Stereo's website is currently down at the moment so can't find the pricing. I don't think I can afford a new IEM at the moment. Seeing how I'm also thinking of grabbing a DAP.

Reselling seems like the the best bet for me as my budget is about SGD250.00 - SGD280.00. I know it's a little low plus the UE TF10 kind of have a special place in my heart, so seeing it go to waste is a bit painful.

If u are willing to take a bet u can send them both in for reshell but ask to take note of whether the sf3 is still workin being implementing it in.
If it works ur reshell will include that but dunno if adding additional will cost abit more. Never done reshelling of universals.
Lifespan of ur reshelled combination may fail anytime, might be either sf3 or tf10 drivers.
As u are unable to test ur sf3, unless u really wan it, i suggest reahelling ur tf10's alone is enough. Lower chance of failure as u have tested them to be working and lowers ur risk,

Seeing as u like the ue sound. U could maybe try the ue600. Then reshell a brand new set and it may cost around the same. Can consider.

Thanks for the reply. I will head down to Stereo and ask them for further information. Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the UE600 a single driver IEM?

It appears that demo units for Mentor 2 and Merlin 2 are no longer with Stereo, since these are pre-production units that came in exclusively for Canjam.
I'd suggest u give Stereo a cal before going down.

Hi folks, finally joined the UM family when I purchased a pair of Mavis from Japan last week. Upgraded from a Dunu DN2000J, very happy with the sound from the Mavis so far!
