New benefits on the UOB Evol credit card - net positive for those not using it for 10% cashback overseas, right?

Surprising, really. Or, what am I missing?

I like that mobile contactless overseas also qualifies.
Totally ignored your post because the announcement wasn't attached. :s13:

1% cashback and no FX fee is fantastic. Shame existing users will only enjoy the benefits from August statement onwards.

is it not only 1% for fx spending?
Yes, my understanding is that it will not stack the 10% back for local spend.

EVOL card is only good for 1 time big ticket ($800 or more) purchase online or using apple/google pay. straight get $30 rebate which is ~3.75% rebate.

Does no FX fee mean it is purely using Visa Conversion rate ie no 3.25% ?

Currently, the 10% rebate on overseas spend contains 3.25% .. net is 6.75%

Guess 1% is better than nothing but not better than other cards with higher rebates.

Ignoring the 1% Cashback, so with this changes, it is now somewhat like the cards from Trust Banks for FX transactions.

Edit: preface with ignoring the Cashback. Only want to focus on the FX part.

interestingly, EVOL card MYR payments on 26 Jun 25 already excluded FX fees

MYR 77.20 = posted SGD 23.41 ( same as Visa calculator )

MYR payments on 6 Jun 25 still had FX fees

trust cashback card have 1% cashback without min spend, so better
Why not mari card? Similar to trust bank one, but cashback is higher. No need to target specific category to get the cashback, with no minimum spend, no cashback limit. And even cashback with 1.7% on domestic spendings is higher than trust cashback card with 1% lol. If were to talk about UOB, they are calling out cashback promo, but they have min spend :"/

good only during promo period, where the rebate is higher than the 3% fx fees

Overseas Foreign Currency Spend refers Transactions which are processed outside of Singapore and successfully charged to your Card and posted on UOB’s system, in a foreign currency. Transactions which are processed outside of Singapore, but which are charged to your Card in Singapore Dollars and/or United States Dollars at the time of the Transaction, will not constitute an Overseas Foreign Currency Spend.

USD excluded?
