Just signed up to Mighty Secure. Does this mean that we can now discard the physical token?

That is the reason I activated as well - original token battery was about to give up the ghost.

They already phase out physical token. So yes.

Just curious if activating Mighty Secure actually deactivates the token or whether it's still valid (battery permitting).

Or what happens if one's phone dies and you get a new handset...

Seems like their FAQ Say to just register again on the new phone and the old one get deregistered. You can also unregister on the old phone and register on the new also. Just register using your ATM pin method.

Once you register the mighty secure, the old token is decommissioned.

Ok, so for 100% after registering for mighty secure I can dispose of the physical token?

Yes. My physical token battery went flat before I registered for the mighty secure and have been only using the mighty secure for all my online transactions without issue. It's supposed to replace physical token as they wouldn't be issuing them anymore.

At dbs and uob, yes. At UOB for high risk transaction (e.g. Adding new payee) you additionally need to key your mighty secure PIN on the mobile device to approve.

You better keep it. You never know. On internet banking, there is still option to select SMS or token.
They are not scrapping the token yet, do keep in mind there is still people not on smart phone or smart phone with correct OS version to support Mobile token.

Once the Mighty Secure has been installed on a phone the PIB login doesn't offer SMS/SecurePlus token option anymore.

Does anyone confirm the UOB SecurePlus token is 100% useless now?

On the FAQ webpage UOB only says Mighty Secure only replaces the physical token but don't specifically asks to dispose of it or that it has been deactivated.

Ever spoke with them and they said that if the mobile app doesn't work can fallback to token. Haven't tried it b4. But CSO did say whoever holding onto token will be the last of it till the battery dies. They no longer send out physical tokens.

I think token discontinued. All must switch to app after a deadline.
