There is something interesting if you look at the calculation above. I was using 365 days in a year, whereby 2016 has 366 days.

I wonder if come Feb, whether it will take on 28 or 29 days.

If it is 29 days, this will mean that for the whole of 2016, they may end up giving one extra day of interest of $3.26?

not sure what's the issue.. 2016 just divide by 366 right?

I can understand his calculation

He mistook that the annual interest amount is fixed and a fixed amount is divided by 366 instead of 365. Of cos that concept is not correct

With effect from 1 March 2016, top-ups for any pre-paid card will not qualify as card transactions and such spend will not go towards the minimum spend and cash rebates will not be awarded for such purchases.

Saw this statement on UOB website. Does this means I can still TOP up my prepaid card now (before 1MAR) and still qualify for the minimum spend/cash rebate? Feb is the last mth of my quarterly cycle :(

they need "double confirmation", that's all

LOL

must be becos they had experience of bank cso telling them

"yes, this toilet sign is for guys, and yes, you are a guy but you cannot go in. There is another clause which says you cant go in. Even if there is no clause, we reserve all rights to not let you go in."

Is the UOB One account's clause same as OCBC 360's as in, the 3 giro payments can be just 3 monthly payments from the Ibank or savings account?

OCBC 360 can just pay 3 bills from the Ibank/savings.
Can it be the same for UOB One?

It has to be GIRO.

After setting up the acc in Dec 2015, I am still waiting for my 3rd GIRO's approval :(

IRAS and HDB GIROs are readily available from UOB iBanking. It takes less than 1 month for approval, no signature required so it's quick and easy.

CPF also quite easy, just print out the GIRO form from the website and fill up, sign and send in for approval.

So far the most troublesome one for me is Starhub (not sure about other telcos). I checked with the automated hotline, and said my wife's and my GIROs are not approved. Spoke to the staff, he said our GIROs are still pending from the bank's side. Asked us to check again for updated status in 2 months time :s11:

Mistake learnt ...

4th Jan 2016 set up UOB one account with the debit card
5th Jan 2016 Bought S$ 1400 stuffs in 3 transaction in 1 shop
(bank officer say must faster spend on debit card to get higher interest b4 i recvd my CC)

15th Jan recvd UOB one card

Statement for 15 Feb (transact date 15th Jan - 2 Feb amounting to
about excess 5k ) - 1st month

CSO say Pro rata for Quarter so i dun get cash back even for Jan 2016 but to count Feb + March 2016 as 1 quarter so max i get 200 instead of 300/.

My fault not clarifying but sucks to overspend 3k (acutally should say i spend 5k plus on OUB one creditcard + 1.4k on UOB one debit card) on plus extra on a stupid statement date which is not there or expired...

Could have put the excess on signature/inifinite and earn points.... crap

I assume your quarter is 15 Jan to 15 March - so u will get your rebate in 15 April.
try to spend 2k between 15 Feb to 15 March using uob1 cc, bearing in mind $500 min for february for the bonus interest for uob 1 account.

Thanks Boss ..

Spoke twice to the CSO ... advising that it will be pro-rata ...

ie to say. per month 2000 per quarter 6k. never expect 15 jan is not considered even though i already hit excess of 2k by then (via debit card and credit card).

Make no sense to spend 1.4k on the debit card and 5.1k (from 15 Jan - 1st Feb) Was told to spend immediately when i set up my UOB one savings ...

Haiz ... Nevermind lesson learnt .. hehe

Does anyone know, for the GIRO salary requirement of $2000 a month, can it be a combined income of $2000 credited, or must 1 GIRO salary transaction be at least $2000?
