My company credits my salary into my DBS saving account. My boss would not want to take the trouble to credit my salary into another bank account. So how am I going to transfer my salary from my DBS bank to UOB bank?

Also, I don't have One Account. Can I open online? I only have normal UOB saving account + UOB Absolute Card.

I just enquired at UOB if I could Fast in/Paynow using the option or description of Salary. The teller went to check with her colleague inside and told me it doesn’t work as salary crediting must be done by company.

I also asked about this at UOB. The lady said the 7.85% is inclusive of the base interest. But as usual, she doesn’t seem sure. So not sure if that’s true.

How much of a hassle is it? Not just inform HR meh?
My company has this profile system where we just need to change it in the system and the rest is automatic.

But reading some of the online comments, it seems to be a much more troublesome issue for some people, especially small company you have to manually inform people who need to go make changes for you.

3.85 x 30k = 115.50k
3.90 x 30k = 117.00k
4.85 x 15k = 072.75k
7.80 x 25k = 195.00k

Sum of the above = 500.25k

Effective interest rate = 500.25/100 gives 5.0025%pa

For "bonus" part of the interest, you need to deduct 0.05%pa = 4.9525%pa .....

Lol! UOB staff don’t even know what they are doing de. If it works, it would still work even after I go and ask them. If it doesn’t work, even if they tell me it works, it can still don’t work and I don’t have any recourse, like the time they told me any transaction on a UOB card counts when it’s not true. I lost my bonus interest also cannot do anything.

I just went to ask 爽. The lady didn’t even seem confident when she answered my questions. Could only regurgitate ‘you have to meet all criteria’, like I don’t know.

From 01 Sep 2022, if you spend min. $500 on eligible CC spend and credit your salary, and has $100k in UOB one acct, the bonus interest per month should be :

28 days in the month = $160.71
29 days in the month = $166.45
30 days in the month = $172.19
31 days in the month = $177.93

This month will be new bonus interest rate .....

Selected Cards include UOB EVOL, UOB Lady’s Card+, UOB YOLO, UOB One Debit Mastercard* and UOB One Debit Visa Card* and Mighty FX Debit Card

Heng , I did not close last month .. thinking to close it as too many accounts in hand and UOB one card I now also seldom use
I close like 2 years ago. Today saw the interest rate not bad, I go apply online again. Within 5 mind, uob one account created. Not a hassle at all.

I just inform HR to change salary crediting account to the uob one account via email. 1 minute only.

Those who say hassle..really don't understand why haha

Hi Ashketchum, thanks for your great reply again. For amount more that 100k, which bank's offer is good?

Hard to say since there's so many variables. Most other banks have criterias like investments, insurance, loans on top of your salary credit and credit card spend to meet the higher interest rate.

So ultimately it really depends on how much more are you talking about, and how is your spending profile like, then you calculate. There's only a few high interest savings accounts in the market now, so shouldn't be that hard to make the assessment. There's no one 'best' one per say at higher amounts
