what is earmarking?

I have a similar question as gobin74 , however my capital only 70k. Will the interest yield be 4% also? I am comparing OCBC and uob .
No it would be lower due to the tiered interest for UOB One. Ocbc also has tiered interest rate so you may wish to check the calculator on the bank website

Refer to bank website : https://www.uob.com.sg/personal/save/everyday-accounts/one-account.page
Scroll down, there is a table showing the various tiers of interest rates. There is also a calculator.

Earmarking is related to Big Savings Payout Promotion.
Refer to bank website : https://www.uob.com.sg/personal/pro...00324-:Q1SAVE24:na:na&vid=na&pid=CD07Q1SAVE24

For UOB ONE to me, it’s either 150k or put your money elsewhere. Try BOC smart saver or DBS multiplier. I got all 3 earning 4%, 4.6% and 4.1% p.a. EIR respectively.

One annoying thingy about the UOB one account, they never indicate, for the earmarked amounts of money, when it is expected to be available .......

Everything is in the tnc, very detailed document UOB provides!

Even if it is unmarked, will you withdraw and lose your 4% pa interest? Under old tnc (100k 5%), maybe you can!

I play with Stash, I cannot withdraw until first day next mth or I lose my EIR!

Thanks for the info .... I would still think it would be a customer convenience, and less ambiguous ....

Hi all
For usage of UNI$ for petrol payment from UOB one card , does that payment count towards UOB one bonus interest accumulation?

Can’t seem to find in UOB FAQ that UNI$ usage will not be counted, so appreciate if someone could clarify.

thanks!
