It seems quite a hassle to earn that Income Tax cash rebate.

Step 1: Apply for the GIRO Monthly Tax Payment Plan through the IRAS website and select UOB One Account as the deduction account. Use eGIRO to skip paper form filling. You’ll need a UOB One Account, so apply here if you don’t have one already.

Step 2: Register your mobile number for PayNow via UOB TMRW app or UOB Personal Internet Banking.
This may mess up for those who registered their mobile number with a "spending" account. One has to constantly transfer money to UOB One Account to maintain the Monthly Average Balance (MAB).

Step 3: Activate Money Lock on UOB TMRW app or UOB Personal Internet Banking.
Please do not lock all funds and leave sufficient withdrawable balance for GIRO transactions to be deducted.
One has to transfer money to UOB One Account every month after GIRO deduction to maintain the Monthly Average Balance (MAB).
Set up is very easy. I just done all these three steps in 10 mins.
The next part is how to manage the UOB one account balance.
To be honest, can not resist the 6% cashback for income tax payment. While other Credit Card cash back with no max spending limit is only 2% or less.

1 way is to just money lock the MAB amount, so that amount is not affected by giro deduction.
If your 1.6k salary happens before 6th of every month, then just keep an amount for giro deduction and transfer the rest to another account.

can just money lock $1.

https://www.uob.com.sg/personal/save/one-account-tax-saver.page.
under FAQ on

Where can I find user guides to setup PayNow, Money Lock and GIRO payment?

Money Lock
You must set a minimum Lock Amount of $1 in any of your UOB accounts as the primary accountholder. Please do not lock all funds and leave sufficient withdrawable balance for GIRO transactions to be deducted.

I have the same situation.
All along, I am using UOB ONE account to pay for my income tax monthly GIRO payment.

I called up UOB CSO yesterday and was told that I just need to do the rest of the 2 items:
-Money lock of at least $1 and Paynow mobile to UOB ONE account
I hope what the CSO said is correct...:)

For the heck of it, bought physical gold from UOB yesterday as well - need to collect ..

Does anyone knows if the $150k needs to be in the UOB one account on the 1st of the month (1st May) or does the money needs to be in the account before the month (29th Apr) to get the full interest for the monthn of May?

This is for new account opening.

You only get interest for the days your money is in the account. First day of the month is fine.

The money lock need not be UOB ONE right? From TnC never specifically said need to do money lock on UOB One Account but only an account where you are the primary accountholder
