From what i hear. Since people have confirmed that if do via egiro no change to tax plan. I believe its just a visual glitch/bad system design. Because april tax payment although not deducted has been sent out and approved by bank(non uob) already if u see your notices. Meaning high chance your april deduction will still happen just that it will be from the non uob bank(pre change).
Once that happens, FY2025 will start on 6th May where iras should rebalance your giro based on the remaining balance and send you a new tax plan which should be the “correct” monthly amount deducted from uob, aka 12 months of rebates until april 2026

We shall see on 7th Apr, any deduction..

I think if apply to use GIRO to deduct my monthly income tax today, doubt it will make it for 6 April deduction .....

From what I am aware, this sort of GIRO deduction request should have been send in a few days before actual deduction date ..... this is why when I used iPayMy to pay my income tax, I always do about 2 weeks ahead of 6th of the following month, to have buffer for weekends/public holidays ....

Those who added new GIRO instruction yesterday or today, do let us know the result.....

Thanks!

I already made the switch to UOB yesterday and the plan supposedly starts from May  so UOB's promo that we can enjoy from April, is probably only for those who're already using UOB One to pay their taxes.

I made the (wrong?) decision to cancel my existing giro with HSBC which would have earned me at least 1% for this month's tax payment. in the end IRAS's new giro plan included the outstanding amount from April into the new plan (hence monthly amount is higher from May onwards.

after calculating 11 months of 6% I couldn't even enjoy the full cap of $600 rebate but just over $500... alright I'll just blame myself for being too quick to change.

Clause 2.8 is onerous. They should have exempted Apr25 from this clause given it's the first month.

2.8 For avoidance of doubt, you are required to keep your PayNow registration and money lock activated for the entirety of each month during the Promotion Period. Where PayNow registration and/or money lock are not active during any month or any part of a month, you will not be eligible for the monthly rebate for that month.

Possible to adjust the giro installments so you pay more each month earlier? I plan to try after YA 2025 tax payable amount is available.

the installments are auto-calculated by IRAS... don't think we can set the amount we want to be deducted via GIRO.

bank side, we can set a cap, but not the minimum.

I registered last night 3rd April 2025 giro with uob one account and my iras webpage shows deductions will start 5th May.

Just wondering what happens if I de-register current giro with DBS? ...will the deduction for April 5th will be forced to be done with uob one account?

Must link to ONE ACCOUNT !
Based on the Terms and Conditions, it did not state must link to UOB One Account explicitly.

You will be eligible for the Tax Payment Rebate if you satisfy the following criteria:
a) Hold a UOB One Account as the primary account holder with minimum MAB of S$30,00.
b) Register your mobile number for PayNow on UOB TMRW or UOB Personal Internet Banking.
c) Setup money lock on an account where you are the primary accountholder through UOB TMRW, UOB Personal Internet Banking or UOB ATMs in Singapore. Minimum money lock amount of $1 is required.
d) Pay your Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (“IRAS”) personal income and/or property taxes through monthly GIRO from your UOB One Account.

Just ensure switch mobile number paynow to UOB and money lock with $1. Very easy and no need to worry.

My point is the promo started 1 Apr yet anyone who is not paynow registered and money lock activated with UOB before 1 Apr will not get the 6% for Apr25, even if the person is already using UOB for income tax GIRO and registers paynow and money lock during Apr25 itself.
