just got an email from grab that grabpay has been classed as a stored value facility going forward. this probably means that grabpay transactions wont be counted towards the $500 spending? sad life..

40.12 “Retail transactions” refers to local and foreign retail transactions and recurring bill payment but excludes the following:
(f) payment of funds to any prepaid accounts, including but not limited to top-ups on any stored value facility, EZ Link card transactions and other transit link transactions;

UOB is one of the fastest payers of bonus interest. Every 2nd of the month.

Maybank is every 5th of the month.

DBS is every 7th of the month.

HSBC is the longest! I topped up in early Jan 2019. Till now see nothing!

According to UOB, due to their tie-in with Grab, it counts.

Esaver and Citibank MaxiGain better. On last day of the month itself. But they not link to credit card spend or other criteria. So for those that link, UOB still winner. 👍

For those that link with card spending, HSBC is the winner in my opinion in terms of higher interest.

Downsides are
(1) need to "reset" and wait for next 3 months cycle
(2) long wait for interest to be credited
(3) need higher spending ($800) but interest rate applies to more savings ( first $100K)

When I am in "waiting" mode, I will choose UOB for $75k and the rest $25k in eSaver/iSAVvy.

If you topped up in early Jan 19, then you should have received the step-up bonus in early Feb 19 and later debit card spend bonus in late Mar 19. Did you register for the promo using their electronic form or walk in one of their branches?

The optimal amount for HSBC bonus interest and spending interest is 100k. :)

Yes, my wife walked into one of the HSBC branches to register for the top up promotion. Until now, we have yet to receive any bonus interest from HSBC.

Were you a New Account then ? or Existing Account ?

Existing Account, need to do both ie to register (usually online) to join StepUp promo and to go to roadshow Branch to enrol for the Top up promo/gift.

For New Account, the StepUp registration is auto, and only need to sign form for the TopUp promo/gift.

Yes, existing premier account and registered and enrolled at the branch for top up promo. Even received the abalone gift set.

Anyway, checked the T&C for the promo (got to wait a few months for the bonus interest):-

Bonus Interest and Additional Bonus Interest (as the case may be) will be credited into an Eligible Account in SGD by the end of the second month following the Relevant Month in which the Bonus Interest or Additional Bonus Interest (as the case may be) was accrued. In all cases, Eligible Customers must satisfy all the conditions of this Promotion before any Bonus Interest or Additional Bonus Interest (as the case may be) is paid.

I also in the Same Cycle (Jan to Mar), I had received the Bonus Interest on 7th Feb, Spending Interest is not yet credited.

Suggest to shift this HSBC discussion related to HSBC thread.

Anyone didn't get the full bonus interest because some companies credited the Feb salary earlier in end Jan due to CNY?
