Open Mighty FX if you don't want it to be converted.

Yes, there will be a fee for all incoming transfers except local USD cheque.

I just paid my manulife insurance via ipaymy using my cc. I then called the hotline to confirm if the payment counts towards the cc cash rebate and she said no?! She said that it is insurance therefore not counted. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance.

Answer is no. I kena liao. Tot can get $300 but only get $100 rebate cos insurance dun count. Anyway I use maybank f&f kard. Got 8% rebate for eligible spend.

Anyway, uob one interest has gone to the dogs liao. At least I enjoyed the benefit while it last.

Thank you, uob! Will put my funds back in when u up the interest. Dbs can but why can't u

You mean you use Maybank FF to pay insurance on iPaymy and it is counted 8% rebate?

And you use UOB One card to pay on iPaymy and it is not counted as eligible spending for rebate?

No no no. Maybank kard got no rebate for insurance. What I am saying is I shift my spending eg grocery, mrt and what not to maybank liao.

I never use Ipaymy thinking insurance is counted but I was wrong. Lol. So is user problem

think no need to worry, just sit tight

CSO correctly confirm "insurance" as not eligible from his PoV.

can wait til item is posted, then ask if that MCC is eligible (just ask to verify the MCC, no need to say anything else)

If really not counted then you will see many ppl ranting about it. MCC 7399 clearly still eligible at the moment. Next time if really need to ask CSO just ask for the MCC.

If i remember correctly, insurance payment no longer counts towards rebate. But still count for the account interest.

Hi guys, wonder how u manage the GIRO payment / recurring payment for UOB Credit Card. When should we make the balance payment since GIRO deduction will only happen 1 day before due date (as I was told).

I selected minimum payment for this and realise that there's no deduction for this month. This is the first time I tried to setup and the invoice had the word "GIRO PAYMENT" being indicated.

Being kia si, I actually made a payment in full few days before due date because I do not know exactly how it works. And there's no deduction last month and unfortunately, I only have 2 GIRO deduction last month as town council deduction did not happen too. :s11:

What most people do is select Giro full payment. Does not really matter when GIRO deduction occur, so long there is sufficient balance when deduction occur. Optionally, can prepay bill using other means but must make sure there is at least $10 bill left unpaid to trigger the GIRO. Also recommended to set up a few more additional GIRO bill payments in case anything go wrong.

Ya... Full payment would be the best option but I am not too keen on it when I think of the cancellation process (if need to).

I do not have many bills and guess 4 GIRO payments arrangements is "safe". =:p

Did some shifting of the payment arrangements to CC in order to meet minimum spend. Kept the original 3 GIRO which does not count to minimum spend / cannot be paid thru CC (IRAS, TC & insurance) and added this CC recurring payment via GIRO knowing that this will not "fail".

Hi oceanicmanta, i dont intend to close the UOB account for now. Interest for a lot of banks have declined. I might considering placing some money in UOB One account depending on HSBC EGA's interest post December 2020.

bank rates getting worse and worse. maybe because Powell signal no rates increase until 2023 so banks manage expectations accordingly
