I see discussion abt 7399. Is someone not getting the latest round of rebates with 7399 in it or? If its not excluded in the tnc they cannot exclude it. Simple as that.

Suggest those who has doubts to save a copy of the tnc if you're feeling on the edge

Call uob to find out the mcc for posted transaction. Google for the list of MCC.

Latest updates regarding MCC7399:

Called uob the 3rd time just now and talked with the CSO through the phone (not live chat). He checked my Cardup transaction and clearly told me that it is ELIGIBLE for cash rebate, and MCC 7399 is NOT EXCLUDED except for grab top ups.

Think is quite clear now: I was told the wrong info by both of 2 live chat CSOs before! As suggested by others, don’t trust those live chat CSOs too much. They even told me that my grab top ups were eligible back in May!

Call center probably in Singapore? While live chat is in KL. Screenshot those chats, and hold UOB liable for the additional 5% rebate for them!

Update: Just got a call from UOB saying 7399 is eligible for rebates, and that the chat service is wrong.

My experience setting up GIRO for my POSB everyday card :

Went to POSB on 10 Dec 2019 in the afternoon. Got the GIRO form from the staff at queue counter. At the same time given a queue number when I said I wanted to submit form after completing it. Apparantly teller need to verify signature when I submit. Filled up the form while waiting.

Received SMS on 19 Dec from UOB that GIRO is approved on 18 Dec

But first GIRO deduction depends on your statement date and due date. My first statement date after approval is 6 Jan. Due date 28 Jan. First GIRO deducted successfully on 28 Jan.

Sighs. My UOB GIRO for my OCBC card approved in mid May. Yesterday was the due date for the card BUT there was no GIRO deduction...I got slapped with a late fee by OCBC wth

Oh dear. Did the OCBC credit card statement show that payment would be made by GIRO deduction ?

I checked to the POSB credit card statement for the first GIRO deduction. There is a line printed "Any full amount due will be deducted from bank account XXXXXXX. GIRO deduction date : 28 Jan 2020.

I don't think I remember seeing anything that says "GIRO deduction" specifically. Then again, OCBC layout might be different? Hmmm.

If your GIRO arrangement has been approved, and is in effect, it will show on your bill statement:

The following information will be available on the payment stub:

The hex sign (#) indicated beside the credit card number will indicate that payment will be debited via GIRO,

Under the Column "Bank/Cheque No.", it will indicate 'Payment debited via".

just try a small amount, den call uob to ask to confirm.
thats what i did for other type of spending.

uob one card used to be fuss free without much exclusion. after it kept changing TNC, its not much diff from other bank card now.

Never tried uob one card but shopeepay is the same as transactions charged directly to card on Shopee. MCC is Variety Stores

Different credit cards have different treatment. So what works on other cards may not work on UOB One. If anybody knows if topping up Shopeepay counts as eligible spend, please kindly advise. Thanks
