fyi, i also have both lower and upper case for shopee transactions:

SHOPEE SINGAPORE MP SINGAPORE SG
Shopee - Singapore SINGAPORE SG

both are counted for quarterly rebate. so the CSO is smoking you.

Update on my txn, UOB indicated that the merchant code is shopee pay despite me claiming it is not a shopeepay txn. Brushed it off as a MCC issue declared on shopee side. Well done UOB!

Heads up to all who want to use UOB for shopee purchases.. be prepared to such “exclusions”

Did you use other promo code for Shopee? Someone highlighted in this thread previously that UOB seem not to give the additional rebates if using other promo code

I think is UOB on a whole, not only the CSO, CSO probably struggling to convey the message but she also feel that something not right LOL

as a customer i think i won't even realised there are such exclusions due to promo codes. the only promo code I know of is when you pay shopee purchases using UOB cards on Wednesdays where you get something like $5 off. so these transactions using promo codes are not eligible for rebate ah? i never see it mentioned in the tnc... perhaps someone can call and confirm.

so many 'hidden' exclusions that customers might not realised... end up losing their quarterly rebate. really is making things so difficult for customers to enjoy.

another possibility is that the bank may not have updated the MCC for the transaction to be eligible. like not long ago I had a somewhat similar experience where my Guardian purchase was counted as eligible transaction for quarterly rebate, but did not count in the additional rebate (5%). have to call the bank and get them to manually credit the missing rebate.

so not surprised if the same is happening now with the $1k shopee transaction. if really disqualified because of the $5 promo code, it's totally not worth it.

I think to clarify, the amount spent is definitely eligible for quarterly rebate but not additional as per SMOKE CSO

i have just gotten the One Card recently & I'm keen too to also open a One account.

As I am aiming for the higher interest rate with the minimum $500 spend on the One Card + Salary Credit into the One Account, it would be good to switch the One credit card billing cycle to follow the calendar month right such that the CC cash rebate & One account bonus interest would be in sync right?

This is what i've read from several posts so far, so i'm wondering if it would be good to do this.

yes... i think some (or many) of us here do that, so that its easier to track. just call the bank and say you want to sync the card billing cycle with the calendar month. your existing cycle will extend to the end of the current month and your next cycle begins the month after that.

When you call, ask them which 3 mths make up your quarter. Because usually first month is usually past when you receive the card. They will prorate the quarterly rebate for first quarter.

Think those shopee voucher used should be ok.. almost all my shopee transaction is SHOPEE SINGAPORE.. only one in small cap.. got $50+ additional rebate this time so about $1k spending total.. should be most eligible..
