Under Clause 8 of the 'UOB “Additional 2% Cash Rebate” Promotion Terms and Conditions',

"...The applicable Cardmember(s) shall earn the Bonus Rebate notwithstanding that such Cardmember(s) may not have earned any Quarterly Cash Rebate."

Accordingly, there is no need to hit the minimum $300/month for 3 consecutive months to earn that 2% rebate. Such rebates are also credited on a monthly basis.
Great... 2% without any min spending limit.

Not everyone accepts Amex leh.

For me its a problem already because my recurring bill are for Starhub, M1, Viewqwest, and S&CC and out of these I only know VQ and Starhub accept Amex. Don't know about M1 and I'm quite sure Town Council doesn't.

But is there a minimum spend or any tiers?

More importantly, Amex is notoriously difficult to get fee waiver and $172 per year is not cheap. In fact whatever cash back you get in one year is most likely less than $172 so you are already making a loss. Sure you can cancel the card once they refuse to waive but then which other card do you use then?

Some have said cancel and re-apply. Well I doubt Amex is stupid. I am sure they know what you are up to and unless you are applying for a different Amex card, I doubt they will approve if you keep applying and cancelling the TCB card.

So let's say I make any online purchases that are billed in foreign currency, that counts as well right?

Edit: Ah shoot! Not counted.

"excluding "not card-present" transactions example online transactions, mail/phone order........."

Officially, no "This additional 2% rebate applies to all transactions made overseas (excluding "not card-present" transactions example online transactions, mail/phone order, overseas transactions effected in Singapore dollars)

But sometimes can get, probably due to human error

Yes, UOB has some human error especially when it comes to rebates which are more favourable to the member.

Well done! You read and understood the essence of the 2% rebate.

2% Rebate only applicable for 1st $5k SGD equivalent foreign currency in calender year. Due to error, they still gave me 2% after 1st $5k. However, few month later, they claimed/charged me back the "extra rebate" in statement.

So, even that's error, prepare they will claim back :)

Avoid any confusion to yourself, use $1500 monthly.
Not everyone spends that much. Just received Viewqwest credit card recurring payment form. Only accepts Visa & Master. One more reason NOT to get Amex TCB card. :s8:

Totally agree. If zun zun can hit the tier target is best la, but mostly every month sure got overshooting and this 1.5k tier will give you an overall quarterly rebate % closest to the advertised 3.33%

If there is no careful planning, the 1.5k/month may fail in 1 or more ways and give rise to rebates that range between 0.00% and 3.33%.

Conversely, if there is careful planning, either $300 or $800/month will suffice and provide the rebate closest to the advertised 3.33%.

If you are in between the 300 and 800 tier, can consider Maybank Platinum Visa which works on same principle as UOB One. This has a 300 tier so can combine 300 from UOB and 300 from Maybank to make 600 monthly spend.
