same as me.
I waited for 45 mins on call before i could talk to CSO.
then he say need to submit req and wait for sms for appeal results.

card fee is $194. if i cancel card and repay my installment i need pay $150 penalty fee.
so i might as well cancel card. still save $50
now annual fee is $194? mine was $38.52 for last year, but I got it waived off...

For my case think will be hard to waive as I have zero transactions for past few years think this time round they won't waive for me. I do use their UOB Absolute Amex though.

can DIY ...submit via tmrw app ..under card details, go to settings --> Waive Fees.

mine was rejected ..so need call in to ask CSO to help appeal

Yes indeed another Amex TCB thread annual spend also a lot also cannot waive or only waive half. So the criteria to waive I think it is not just spending there could be other factors which banks don't share for obvious reason in case we customer try to game their system.

Valid reason too. Just like maybank refuse you to withdraw your last 10 dollars so they can deduct your fall below fee strategy. It is like the banks know they got many customer patterns so they think of way to "fix" it aka play back to you those "smelly pattern" customers haha

Anyone encountered UOB card cannot be used for simplygo ?

I could tap in on bus but thereafter could not tap out or use for new journey. Adding the card to simplygo also gave an error. MRT control station also see the card with error but say need to check with bank why. But have not been able to get through hotline yet.

But card could be used to pay on SP app without problem.

Want to check if I'm to use shopee installment with UOB One, will the instalment transactions be counted towards the cashback?

Happened to me once for MRT but the problem resolved itself the following day. Nonetheless, because I couldn't tap out, the maximum MRT fare was charged to the card and I had to claim back the extra charge in the SimplyGo app. Likely you have to claim back the extra charge you incurred since you also tapped in but couldn't tap out.

Hi just to inform never mange to get through talk to a live person CSO yesterday but this morning I explore the tmrw app, at the card Settings. Below Quick Links -> Cancel card. I click this button and viola it works as it say Successful. But I am still worried the annual fee billed to this card later ask me to pay so somehow I will need to talk to a live person CSO and ask them confirm from their computer end my card is indeed cancelled and I no need pay annual fees any more.

You should not have cancelled if you still want the card.

My last year's experience is that system reject, hotline appeal reject, I called to cancel card. 2 weeks later retention unit called to say waive.

Got long lecture from me because I already lost quarterly rebate because did not spend in mth 3. Told them suppose to be goodwill but experience end up upsetting customer because makes them feel like have to beg the bank to waive.

Also told them that UOB card is quarterly rebate and linked to UOB account bank account for interest. Any delay cause the customer to lose card rebate. You think you just lose the customer for the card but actually may also lose the customer's bank account

I obviously do not want the card. i am not a lover of their quarter rebate concept even if it give high rebates. The reason the card remain active is becuz every time they waive. This time cannot waive then cancel lor. I got too many cards on hand to use so this card gone also ok. I just added DCS mastercard so the number of cards keep increasing. Logic will dictate new ones come in old ones if not in use just cancel (retain if no need pay monies). BOC just waive mine recently despite zero transactions for a full year.

Edit: I have this card since 2011 and never have to pay annual fees for so many years. I think I only made 1-2 transactions for this whole period. Readers may ask then why in the first place apply this card correct? I am still trying to go back in time why I apply this card. Too many cards so also forget this card history liao.

could be also because holding multiple cards.... if cancel all left one.. higher chance to get fees waived...

Just to update cancel card via tmrw does not remove the annual fee. You still need to by hook or by crook get hold of live person CSO via phone banking or chat. Only they can submit the annual fee removal request after you have cancelled the card. I guess this is to give CSO a rice bowl else customer all DIY they no job to do.

Finally get rid of one more useless card. Old one go out then new one can come in.
