Basically from 1st Aug 2025, DFI Retail Group merchants (7 Eleven, Cold Storage, CS Fresh, Giant, Guardian, Jasons, Jasons Deli, Marketplace, CART) nerfed to 0% additional cashback after it got acquired by Malaysian retail group Macrovalue.

From Sep/Oct/Nov onwards (depending on your quarter allocation), minimum monthly spending increased from $500 to $600. Minimum number of monthly transactions increased from 5 to 10 as well.

Oh well. Goodbye to Cold Storage... and Guardian. Two of my most visited groceries / pharmacy due to UOB One.

Where now to go for groceries? :/

I expected changes when DFI sold Cold Storage/Giant away .....

Make earning rebates more difficult for "margin" users .....

Anyone saw the last example:
"Giant will not earn additional cashback w.e.f 1 Aug’25)"

But the tables before that, Giant is still included in the calculations.

So is Giant under Groceries (2.67% or 4.67%) or not at all?

In the month of July,
Tier 1 $500: 5% (only for groceries from DFI Retail Group)
Tier 2 $1000: 5% (only for groceries from DFI Retail Group) + 2.67% (for groceries excluding DFI Retail Group)
Tier 3 $2000: 6.67% (only for groceries from DFI Retail Group) + 4.67% (for groceries excluding DFI Retail Group)

From August onwards,
Tier 1 $500/$600: 0%
Tier 2 $1000: 2.67% (for groceries from DFI Retail Group and groceries outside of DFI Retail Group)
Tier 3 $2000: 4.67% (for groceries from DFI Retail Group and groceries outside of DFI Retail Group)

thanks, overlooked the total spending under tier 1... hence Giant no rebates.

this change is going to affect those who rely a lot on groceries... not giving any rebate for tier 1 is kinda unfair for small size families or singles living alone.

I am in July to Sep quarter. So when I must hit $600?
Exracted from UOB T&C:
"If you are an existing UOB One Cardholder whose principal Card was issued before 1 July 2025, the revised terms and conditions of the Quarterly Cashback under Clause 3 will only apply to Card Transactions in the Quarter starting from 1 September 2025."

Based on above, I assume your new revised cashback should start from your next quarter - Oct to Dec.
I am also on the same quarter as yours. 😅

How to know which quarter one’s in?
Assuming card was issued way before July 2025, so shouldn’t the quarter start as per stated 1st sept so meaning need to spend $600 min from 1sept onwards?

I am on quarter June-Aug with card issued long ago, so effectively everything for me only started in Sep including the $600 spends?

With the removal of awarding only DFI group .... I may have to change my habit of shopping only in Guardian vs. Watsons ..... and probably buy less from 7-11 for items (like Gardenia bread) and instead choose to buy from other supermart ....

But with Tier 1 not enjoying supermart rebate, guess I no need to choose where to shop anymore .....

yah, need to spend $1000 in order to include groceries... it's kinda unfair to small families and singles.

With this month's new batch of CDC vouchers, I think I might not need to spend too much with credit card on groceries though .....
