Some info for those who received the new UOB ONE card -Please bring your new card for overseas trip!

I received the new card two months back. There have been quite a numbers of reminders from UOB to activate the card but I didn't activate it.

Last Friday I went for overseas trip so I enabled the overseas usage from iBanking. During my trips from Friday to Sunday, I tried to use the card on many places but all failed. I thought my card is spoilt so I tried to activate the new card after my trip but activation failed. I called the hotline on Monday and was informed that the new card was activated last Friday.

UOB just automatically activated my card without informing when I enabled overseas usage. NOT even a SMS notification that the new card is activated by UOB.

Please take note if u plan to use the card overseas.

Don't understand what you are trying to highlight. You activated overseas usage but did not activate the card so UOB did it for you. I see nothing wrong with that since you obviously wanted to use it.

What I am curious is since both are done, why dud your overseas transactions still fail.

Exactly! UOB activated the new card for me without informing me. That's why I brought the old card overseas and all transactions failed.

Oh. Understand now. You actually meant to activate overseas usage for old card. But new card got activated because of this and old card becomes invalid.

Thanks! Because, my cycle ends at the end of the month, and I am hoping not to overspend too much on the $500, since I might be purchasing other things over the next few days. First time using uob card, so not sure how fast does it take to post for M1.

1 and 3 are counted, singpost may not be counted as govt services are excluded, best is call cso and check.

So I also called. My quarter is Aug, sept and oct. my statement is dated last day of the month. the cso said I will get it on 30 nov. let’s see!
