BTW a few here claims they gave 1year warranty, but did anyone make sure or make them commit it's 1year service and hardware warranty? Cause earlier batch, some bro said 3months hardware and 1 year service, some said 6months warranty.

This business about X mths parts and X months sevice wrty is rubbish and just a sales gimmick. Who knows what the breakdown is between parts and service? They can just easily charge more for the parts instead of charging for service.

Unlike say, for car repair parts where the prices are fixed and spelled out, here, they can charge anything for the parts and we wouldn't be the wiser. Once the "free parts plus free service" period is over, it's as gd as no wrty!

Thanks for your advice, upping this thread are to let consumer aware of this problem. Don’t wish any consumer to follow the step being cheated or corn. There are still many consumers still unaware of this matter and some many easy forget about this incident.

This only serves as awareness to the public not as you think like competitor sabo lah. (I’m basic consumer standing on consumer view of point)

SLS only for the experienced and very knowledgeable ppl to go shop , i got chop before buying ps2 there last time then i learnt my lesson .You can't expect every sales ppl in the world to be honest .If u are lazy to do research or get rec from friends or forums go somewhere else reliable to shop such as funan.

Funan is good but price wise are vry expensive than SLs due to their high rent fee. Do some research before you purchase if not u be their carrot cake.

Anyone purchase tablet in SLS has to be careful expecially near the 3rd, 4th & 5th sty escalator and their main office at
#03-(9+9), #04-(4x10), #04-(70+9) & #03-(44x2).

Before that my frs and i approach CH2 company saleperson (Mr Wong) near the #04-xx escalator asking abt the warranty and the package.

Surprising this is what he reply to us in chinese abt themselves and J2 company at #03-(9+9) in SLS

They resell the repair tablet to customers as new one.

I did check with the china manufacturer, they mention all their tablet have to return to china if there a faulty. they dont support singapore shop warranty. Meaning to say retailers in SLS mention has 1 yr warranty are lies. Cant trust them at all

Beware - all their sales talk is BS.

Even the 1-yr wrty is BS because when i checked the receipt (for my VI30) it was written "1 yr warranty service" which means they can just inflate the charges for the parts.

I think if u buy from reputable overseas online shops u will prob get a proper warranty instead of this meaningless "wrty". This is prob the biggest diff bet branded more ex brands and MIC brands

I'm here with a warning for the bros looking to buy their new toy.
Please avoid going to the shop at level 2 called office-link electronics.

At first I was quoted at $189 for elf alone. The casing they were selling for $15.
After walking for, I found that their prices were the lowest I've gotten as CH2 were out of stock. After some negotiation, the agreed price was $200 for the elf and case.

However that price did not included gst. So they slap on another $14. I was a little unhappy about it but kept quiet because I didn't clarify in the first place.

as I was in a rush, I didn't check before I rushed off. Afterwards I discovered that the set that they gave me was either a return or a demo unit.

The unit was already turned on and there was a picture of a random uncle in it.
None of the accessories inside were sealed and the hdmi cable was also missing.
Obviously I went back for an exchange. But they told me to use the set first and come back for an exchange after 7 days when new stock arrive.

I refused to do so and asked for a refund. They tried to convince me to do the exchange 7 day laterbut I insisted on a refund, after making alot of noise, they relented and gave me the refund minus the gst. By then I was too fed up to argue anymore and decided to just take the 200 and go.

Please take this as a warning to avoid the shop and always remember to check your items before going off.
I later got my new set from another shop on level 4 for 210 (tablet only)

For the info, the tablet forums are always closed monitor / watch by SLS sale person. one good example from this forumer with the nick 'songzihaoz'

they know who you are and know what product you need. Be careful

Alot of OEM tablets at IT Show. Some stated as "Windows" and not sure what does it means. Too many crowd at the stall no chance to ask.

Dear bro/Sis, There's a Ainol booth in suntec electronic fair till this sunday.
they belong to CH2 at SLs. Dont purchase from them as their warranty are fake. they are clearing the refurbished set. Pls aware..

but how about the Ainol slates?
are they any good? for $200, the Novo7ELF build seems good enough.
I had a 10min hands on. Was impressed for that price point.
1024 screen. dunno about the A10 cpu.

also, who is a good alternative distro? The CH2 rep that replied TS sounded like a complete douche.

Dear bro / sis, Dont purchase from SLS #04-69, #04-79, #03-88 CH2. they are out there corned you all again. Seem that their warranty are fake;

check with them, one saleperson reply back. different saleperson write it their own way. what the hack is this warrenty

1 invoice stated 3 mths wty (22/02/12) and the other 1 stated 6 mths part wty and 1 yr service (18/02/12) for same product. it just 4 days different.

Sent an Ainol Novo 7 Venus tablet to Sim Lim Square #04-69 for repair. More than 2 weeks, still not ready. I will avoid buying Ainol in future because of their poor turnaround time.
