Hi guys.

I'm thinking to upgrade my PC to run 3 x monitor setup.

Current PC spec (Made in March 2011)
MSI P67A-GD55
i5-2500k
DDR3 - 1333 1 4Gb x2
WD GREEN 2TB
DVD
MSI 6950 TF2
SEASONIC M12II 620W
NZXT PHANTOM

Questions

Should I just sell the whole setup and buy a new one?

Can my existing GPU handle 3 monitor setup for BF4 med / high setting? If not, please recommend a card.

Crossfire another 6950? Do I have to upgrade my PSU?

R9 280 (will it be compatible with my old mobo) ?

Thanks in advance!!

Cheers

Gaming across 3 monitors? Need a newer GPU definitely. Like the 290 at least imo. Wont need new psu if not crossfiring.

2 of the 1080p screens combine is about almost a 1440p gaming display.

To drive up to 3 displays. You can use a single 290. But however you might need to tone down the settings a bit more in order for you to get comfortable frame rate to play your games.

If you intend to get higher frame rate and high settings. You will need to go for dual 290s or 780s. Together with a 850w PSU.

I see! Do you happen to know the best value 290 gpu now?

I believe msi 280 is currently the best value for money gpu. The jump till 290 is so so much. Lol

Totally OOS and you won't easily find it. Cause you have just missed the promo price cut.

There are brands that have reverted the price to $6XX range. So some hunting you might need to do .

There is also Powercolor 290x thta is in promo right now @ $688. However do take note it is a 2.5slots card. Is a bit long also . Please check your chassis clearance place and also are you using any form of sound card and WiFi card. If so you might need to relocate it.

Please do not crossfire 2 Powercolor r9 290x PCs+. Your first card will throttle and also absorb the 1st card heat.

You should invest in a SSD and use it for your boot drive.

Three monitor gaming sounds cool but in reality, you are just focusing on the centre screen. The screens at each side are just your peripheral vision.
