Suddenly my W10 keeps waking up from sleep by itself. Could be the last update that did it. Anyone encounter this?

From the command prompt, you can type "powercfg /lastwake" to see the wake history.

Reserved on Sunday, auto upgraded on tuesday. Im wndering how come so fast for me?

Anyway installation was smooth and everything is good so far. No crashing or any weird stuff.

The initial rush to upgrade is over. Microsoft has reserved way more bandwidth than it needs so it can get Win 10 out quite quickly now.

You need to install pre-15.7 Catalyst or wait for a new version with bug fixes. If you have Win 10 Pro, you can defer upgrades to avoid downloading 15.7.1 again.

If you have never upgraded to Windows 10, then use the key on the COA to install Windows 7 first. You will be able to upgrade to 10 without problem.

If you have ever upgraded and activated Windows 10 before it gets corrupted, then you can do a clean install of Windows 10 directly.

Currently on win7 and would like to upgrade to win10.

Win7 is bought as OEM CD ROM from Tradepac.

Assume I want to do a fresh install, can choose the keep "nothing" option right? Will this only wipe out my partition that currently contains my win7, i.e. the rest of my partitions with data will stay intact?

If future want to migrate the win10 onto another mobo, is it possible to do so?

Windows 10 seems to transmit information to the server even when OneDrive is disabled and logins are using a local account that isn’t connected to a Microsoft Account. Even i try to download and re-install chrome using edge, it will fail as well.

Any pros can fix my problems?

Check device manager or your network settings to see if anything doesn't looks right? Or you can try restoring your router to default.

1. Click on Start, click All programs, click Accessories, right click on command prompt and select Run as administrator.
2. Type in the following commands, one at a time and hit enter.

NETSH WINSOCK RESET
NETSH INT IP RESET
IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS

3. Exit the command prompt and check.

I some issues with explorer and chrome too. It closes itself too. My daughter was upset as it screws up her Asknlearn as before she can submit the browser closed itself. she has to redo twice. Any bro know how to fix this. I have reinstall chrome and monitoring the situation.

The thing with technology is it takes some time for the legacy software to catch up.
If the new OS doesn't work for you right now, just roll back and wait for a few months. Check with the webmaster when will it be compatible with the new OS

Weird dual display on Windows 10

Hi all,

I have 2 monitors
Dell - 1920 x 1080
LG - 1680 x 1050

Previously, i am on Windows 7 professional, extending the display no problem, wallpaper is those extended across 2 displays. Taskbar is also extended one end to the other, ie start button on left of monitor 1 and time and date on the far right monitor 2

Now on Windows 10
Extended the displays. i can move my mouse across both displays displaying documents both monitors BUT

- Wallpaper once set up, is a duplicate.. (ugly)
- I have 2 taskbars, 1 on each (annoying)

Been reading on the net, no solution, anyone can help?
