disagree. where your degree is from is representative of the particular set of knowledge and skill that you possessed in relation to the job position(especially in skilled category) that you are applying for in the PTE sector.

Therefore, assuming all employers want to employ good employees, logically, they would care where your degree is from.

Ts, if you can afford it comfortably, just go oversea for the education and experience. That's my stand. But make sure you really want it and have the right mindset to study.

No offence but I see your posts, what father say this boyfriend reluctant that, you are perhaps not ready for further studies. My advice is this, put the bf factor aside; No guarantee he's your husband tml and is he sponsoring your studies?

If you are still unsure, just go to a local school, at least you are still at home.

payscale different means overseas higher than sg local uni or lower? general expectation : overseas uni ranking > local uni = pay higher? cannot be i grad from harvard, my payscale lower than a nus right? assuming uni ranking is the only factor, not considering other stuffs GPA,work experience,etc

Employers usually do have a ranking system per se. The top 10-20 usually get higher. Anything less might go either way. Either same as local or less if the uni ranking is much lower than the local unis. Even employers are not dumb, they know that you go overseas usually because can't make it to local uni. So they try to squeeze you and offer you less. Even gov/stat boards have this kind of hiring policies.

And I agree with the above poster, JC is a very big gamble. If you lose, you will be worse off than the poly students. Just go to sim and see for yourself, so many A level grads there. I come from a neighbourhood JC myself and I know more people from my school in sim than the local uni I'm in now.

and bro, A level average Cs might get you into engineering only, assuming u are an science student, but if you are an arts student, you get this result,s it's worst than a lousy gpa from poly because u cant go anywhere else other than arts,media n design from ntu/ ntu chinese. Most of these a lvl arts grad eventually landed up in SIM. btw a level arts student = you dont take h2 sciences at all.

And poly still can go SIT if fail @nus,ntu,smu cos it's designed for dip holders. JC is path designed for you to go local, if you screwed up/grades cui,where can you go? sim? overseas? but no exemptions unlike poly.
so JC path is like betting big for gambling, if fail you lose more. whereas poly is more of a low bet, play safe, imho

yup...jc route is a big gamble....but i do realise situations hv changed abit.
last time 3.3/3.4 cant get into local unis at all, A lvl Cs and Ds still can squeeze into some courses
but now seems like 3.2 can qualify for some courses already whereas A lvl Cs might not get into any course.

UNLESS you are aiming for those management trainee progs in major organisations in pte sectors, most of them are really not so hyped up about your grades and where your degree is from. nevertheless, a good degree will open up more opportunities for you.

also, they really look at more than just your grades. you still a student? once you enter workforce (if in pte sector), you will know what i mean. but till then study hard and gain more non-academic achievements!

Don't forget with borrowed money, you gotta return too. And with an Aussie degree on-campus expenses, the ROI isn't worth it. Save the money your mum left you for better use.

if wanna study private, might as well choose a branded uni, these are Russell Group unis. maybe if you do well, can apply to transfer to on campus. and there are higher requirements for entry.

Ngee ann - Adelaide program stated your poly dip don't qualify into their biz program not sure if these simge uk programs take it.
It's better than RMIT.
With those uk degree u can go overseas for postgrad degree
