Nowadays it's about poor projection/outlook for future quarters that causes price movements more than meeting/exceeding expectations of the quarter past.

Asian Open: Indices Probe New Highs Ahead of a Busy Earnings Week
April 27, 2021

The US has pledged to share up to 60 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine with other countries, even though it has not been authorised for use in the US.
:s22:

Nasdaq and S&P 500 approached their record highs ahead of a busy earnings week for US stocks. Around 40% of the stocks on the S&P 500 are due to release earnings reports between today and Thursday, so volatility can be expected on the index but its direction may be a flip of a coin. Seven out of the eleven sectors rise, with the energy sector taking the top spot whilst utilities and consumer staples were the weakest sectors.

Asian Open: The yen deflates, AU CPI and FOMC on Tap
April 28, 2021

Markets traded in tight ranges overnight, with no major stock market index reaching its ATR 10 (average true range). The Russell 2000 rose to a five-week high before giving back earlier gains, to close the session with a small indecision candle.

It was less impressive for tech stocks, with the Nasdaq 100 opening at the high of the day and producing bearish 2-bar reversal which closed back beneath 14,000. Tesla (TSLA) fell -4.5% on disappointing earnings, which were fuelled mostly by the sale of its Bitcoin earnings and not by selling cars. Microsoft (MSFT) was down -4% with its own earnings miss, whilst Alphabet (GOOGL) rose +5. IBM (IBM), Visa (V) and Boeing (BA) are scheduled to release their earnings reports overnight.

Asian Open: Fed Stand Pat, Dollar down, Ethereum at New highs
April 29, 2021

No surprises from the FOMC meeting
The Fed left policy unchanged as widely expected, although added that inflation has risen due to “transitory factors” such as the “basing effect”. This basically means the fed will continue to look past inflation overshoots, so there will be no change of policy.

Asian Open: S&P 500 Squeezes a New High (After a Shaky Start)
April 30, 2021

After a shaky start, the S&P 500 recovered earlier losses to close marginally higher by 0.6%. And the recovery was all thanks to a strong earnings report by FaceBook (FB) which saw the stock rise 7.6% as the second-best performer of the day. Amazon Inc (AMZ) also beat earnings estimates, but the report was released just after the closing bell. Communications services and financial sectors were the strongest performers, and seven out of the 11 sectors were higher by the close.

Large cap tech stocks also rose, with the Nasdaq 100 rising by 0.5% and outperforming the Nasdaq composite (0.2%). The Dow Jones was up 0.6% whilst small caps were flat with the Russell 2,000 closing -0.01% lower.

It was a different case in Europe which saw bourses close in the red in the face of rising yields across the region. The Euro STOXX 50 printed a bearish outside day and finished the session -0.26% lower, although DAX was the laggard closing down -0.9%.

putting in an intermediate support at 117-118 which coincides with previous gap and support and also near short term lower bollinger band.

117-118 accumulate some, 111 buy more
invalid if RSI turns bearish

Dividend Aristocrats In Focus: PepsiCo
Updated on April 28th

PepsiCo is expected to generate earnings-per-share of $5.82 for 2021. Based on this, the stock trades for a price-to-earnings ratio of 24.5. Our fair value estimate is a price-to-earnings ratio of 20. Based on this, the stock appears overvalued. A declining price-to-earnings ratio could reduce annual returns by 4.0% each year over the next five years.
