BAXTER REPORTS FOURTH-QUARTER AND FULL-YEAR 2021 RESULTS
FEB. 17, 2022

Full-year revenue of $12.8 billion increased 10% on a reported basis, 7% on a constant currency basis and 5% on an operational basis
• Full-year U.S. GAAP EPS of $2.53 and adjusted EPS of $3.61
• Baxter’s acquisition of Hillrom positions company to accelerate top- and bottom-line performance and drive innovation in connected care solutions focused on enhancing clinical outcomes for patients and improving workflow efficiency for customers

“In 2021, Baxter’s dedicated employees remained focused on responding to the COVID-19 public health crisis while also embracing new opportunities to advance innovation and accelerate performance, all in support of our Mission to Save and Sustain Lives,”

“We remain focused on strategically redeploying capital to advance our performance and position Baxter for future success,” said Jay Saccaro, executive vice president and chief financial officer. “This strategy was clearly evidenced during 2021, as the company returned approximately $1.1 billion to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases, and deployed over $12 billion to inorganic investments to fuel growth, including our acquisition of Hillrom.”

share repurchase doesnt seem to me to be strategic redeploy capital :s22:
rather keep cash or treasury bills or pay better salary to employees than to spend on share repurchase.

K EPS has been like flat but they increasing their distribution. if they can maintain their earnings shud be ok, but is something to watch out for.

KHC i think uncle buffett said he overpaid. and see their margin sometimes up sometimes down. if u wanna invest hav to dig deeper why it is so.

u mean like private placement, issue new shares?
not sure, but i suppose so.

hav not seen all the reits u listed, but generally, at least u hav to know wht properties they hav and whether u like their properties anot.

even after witholding tax, i still find US reits better coz of long term price appreciation. but again, u hav to ask is the party over now with so many online stores, wfh, fear mongering.

https://www.msn.com/en-sg/money/mar...ion-as-stocks-stumble-on-war-fears/ar-AAUaXmZ3 hrs ago

U.S. investors sold stocks amid growing fears of war between Russia and Ukraine, paring some losses after U.S. President Joe Biden announced a wave of sanctions against Russia.

The S&P 500 is now down 10.25% from its record closing high of 4,796.56 set on Jan. 3, confirming a correction, based on a widely used definition of a decline of 10% or more. The index had briefly been down more than 10% from its intraday record several times in recent trading sessions, without closing at that level.

The small-cap Russell 2000 index last month confirmed it was in a bear market, or drop of 20% from its most recent high. However, some analysts feel smaller stocks are in the process of bottoming out.

Also in January, the Nasdaq confirmed that it had entered its fourth correction since the start of the pandemic. It is down almost 17% from its record high close in November.
