Boeing suspends dividend, CEO foregoes pay after virus-related aid request
MAR 20 2020

Boeing Co said on Friday its chief executive and board chair will forego all pay until the end of 2020 and the company will suspend its dividend.

Boeing is pursuing $60 billion in U.S. government aid to help prop up a U.S. aerospace manufacturing supply chain already reeling from the year-old grounding of its previously fast-selling 737 Max jetliner after fatal crashes

good times reward CEO. bad times, CEO oso must lead to take pay cut.

I dun think div stocks will bounce back a lot after the crash. slow and steady usually.
this will allow me to buy in slowly evy month.
the big names alrdy about 4% DY. I think is good time to pick up JNJ, 3M, at low price. if price go down further, I can continue to buy in somemore.

if u like fast up kind, should look at growth stocks instead. fb, amzn, aapl, msft

dun think to quit job, unless u have big capital to hoot.
all the talk abt quitting job are juz marketing plot of course sellers. if so good they can quit job, they will not be selling courses (which is in fact another job). they shud teach for free.

Mar 20, 2020

"With COVID-19 reshaping the way we run our business and live our lives, it's important that we acknowledge the people keeping us steady during turbulent times, notably the heroic work of the millions of doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals around the world," said Ramon Laguarta, chairman and chief executive officer of PepsiCo. "At the same time, there is important work being done in other sectors, including our own, to help maintain the supply of foods and beverages. We couldn't be prouder of our PepsiCo team for the role they play in restocking pantries and refrigerators."

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon Gets Raise After Rocky Year

Mar 21, 2020

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Chief Executive David Solomon got a 19% raise in 2019, a message likely to resonate poorly among traders and bankers who saw their own bonuses cut and who are facing a long period of economic uncertainty.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. gave CEO James Dimon, the highest-paid bank chief, a 1.6% raise to $31.5 million. Goldman's close rival, Morgan Stanley, cut the pay of CEO James Gorman 7% despite record annual revenue.

I think if one has about 100k warchest, making 500k shouldn't be a problem in this climate. To retire, that will take maybe another crisis to turn that 500k into 2.5m...

Macy’s, Inc. Provides Update in Response to COVID-19 Outbreak

Suspension of Quarterly Cash Dividend
March 20, 2020

The company is suspending its regular quarterly cash dividend payout beginning in the second quarter of fiscal 2020. The company’s previously announced dividend payment occurring on April 1, 2020, is not affected by the suspension. Shareholders of record as of March 13, 2020, will receive the first quarter dividend payment as scheduled.

Additionally, the company is reviewing all non-essential operating expenses for opportunities to lower spending and is reducing its capital expenditures in 2020.

which is one reason why I look at strong cash flow and dividends to determine whether a company is good anot.

For the second time this week, an Exxon Mobil executive has bought $1 million of the embattled energy giant’s stock on the open market.

March 23rd, 2020

Costco Wholesale (COST)
Walmart (WMT)
Kroger Co. (KR)
Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM)
Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN)
Target Corporation (TGT)

People will always be buying groceries. This makes the grocery stocks likely to outperform the S&P 500 Index in a prolonged market downturn, as they have done so far in 2020.

amzn not tech stock by grocery store :s22:
