then don't do so much one day 1 n 2 n put the stuff you weren't able to do on day 4?

I really don't understand what you want to do in times sq/theatre district. to me, they are all just buildings and shops so sufficient to do in 1 morning. n u get to see it at nite again when u go for your nite broadway show.

Bryant Park is oso quite small. I finish walking through it in less than 15 mins. But it is nice to sit and people watch, etc. At this time of the year though, there aren't many activities. It is better during xmas time when they have the skating rink n xmas market. Bryant Park | Calendar

I only planned it that way because I don't know what to do/how long would I take. If you could help me fill in some other activity in the meantime, I will do it! :)

stumptown coffee can be found in many cafes now. here's more recommendations for kopi places. 6 Best Coffee Shops in NYC - Big Appled

I think sweetleaf is v good. The LIC branch is just next to gantry state park which has v good views of Manhattan and is just a really nice place to relax in. gantry state park on Tumblr

Wow you guys know your stuff! Help me narrow it down to the Top 3 places to have Coffee in NYC please! I like Cuppachino and Iced-Caramel Macchiato!

Oh, a meal at one of the momofuku restaurants would probably be great :D

Firstly, I realised Hell's Kitchen needs reservations weeks before and I'm going in 2 days. No time :(

Secondly, how much are we looking at for the mentioned Momofuku restaurant and which outlet is worth visiting?

quick question:

I'm flying SIN->SFO->LAS...does my baggage allowance for domestic (SFO->LAS) follow the SQ limit of 2 checked-in?

My concern is as I'm heading there with 1x checked-in & 1x cabin, if I were to come back with 2x checked-in the cost of buying additional luggage during the domestic segment will be super expensive (that's according to what I heard).

Depends on the airline, unfortunately - you'll need to check the policies for whoever you're flying with on the domestic leg.

Nooo! Starbucks is available locally. Must try some place else. Well I think ambiance is secondary. Good Coffee is first!

A noob q. I bought my USD but they all comes in $100bill. Where is the best place to cut them in the US? Not sure if money exchanger there will do it?

Suggested tipping amount is universal in North America. 10% for so-so service, 15% for standard/ok/good service, 20% for very good service. When u pay by credit card, u have to write the tip amount on the invoice so they charge the combined amt to ur card

The safest way to break them: use them to pay for dinner. You can't always bank on Starbuckses or 7-11s taking $100s (though you can ask, it doesn't hurt).

Actually, most larger chains would accept them, like supermarkets, starbucks etc. Even if they say they do not accept any bill larger than $20, it does not hurt to ask. I've paid in $100 bill in Chinese restaurant that says no bill larger than $20 (though I'm chinese and they are chinese).

Gift cards? That interesting. Any website to refer to?
It's almost 20yrs since I last have holiday in the west coast, really don't know what to expect. But I'm sure the kids will have a blast with all the theme parks.

Btw, good dealing with you. Will contact you again before we depart.

I only fear after buying they don't accept and I have no smaller note.

One other question, can we claim VAT on return flight? Is it easy to do in the airport? Must I show the item during my claim?

As long as first few times you can break the big note, then you should be fine as long as you have sufficient small notes for the purchase. Hotels might provide this service of breaking your 100 into 50s and 20s, or smaller.

No tax rebate from US shopping. Only tax free you get is shopping in tax free states and certain online shopping or airport / duty free shops.

Thank you!

If you are interested in trying Michelin starred restaurants, I would advise you to skip Per Se and Eleven Madison (Both 3 stars). I tried them both and food quality isn't up to scratch. Eleven Madison offers a more interesting experience though.

thanks for your input...i always imagined that the domestic leg will follow the initial baggage policy.
