Hi, appreciate advice if this draft itinerary is doable. Arrive LAX terminal B via SQ at 11.55am, catch Delta domestic flight at 3.10pm at terminal 5, arrive Las Vegas at 4.25pm, pick-up car at airport, check into Bellagio, catch Celine Dion
Concert at 7.30pm Caesars Palace Colosseum, door opens 6.30pm.

Yep, totally doable. I'd make one change though: instead of picking up your car before heading to the Bellagio, just go straight to the Bellagio (take a taxi, and tell the driver to take Flamingo) and dump your bags, then walk over to Caesars (it's right next door).

it depends. how long will you be here and will you have the time to hit most of the attractions listed in the pass? If not, it might work out cheaper to get the tickets to the attractions that you do want to go individually.

Awesome! I miss NYC already!

some food markets in nyc now. more will pop up as summer nears.

Thanks both! I will be in Disney World Orlando, Florida early next month for 5 days. After which, i will fly back to New York City and stay there for 6 days. Hee! I am still not sure what to do in NYC, so what Telur17 share here will be beneficial. Any recommendations will be very much appreciated! :D

eh, really depends on what you and your wife like. There are tons of interesting attractions that can easily take up half day or more in NYC such as the museum of natural museum, intrepid, moma, the met museum, cloisters, top of the rock etc etc.

or you might want to just chill and relax in the many parks like central park, highline, gantry state park or explore the different neighbourhoods. or go crazy with shopping at woodbury.

check if your stay coincides with any special promotions eg: restaurant week or broadway week to get good deals.

lots of suggestions on what to do here. http://www.nycgo.com/

Car rental at LAS - mid June

It is strange for me to ask this question, but...

Anyone has an experience renting car at LAS from Advantage? Never dealt with them in past, plan to get car for five days trip in mid-June.

Once I landed on JFK (John F. Kennedy International Airport) this coming Friday, I will be flying from JFK to MCO (Orlando International Airport). I have 2 queries:

Any comments/thoughts will be greatly appreciated! :D

  1. Should i buy the domestic flight tickets when i reach JFK or should i buy it now?
  2. Which domestic airline should i take? Cost is a major concern to me!

My thoughts on (1):
  1. If i buy at JFK itself, it will be more costly? But i can better manage my time and itinerary given the situation at the airport itself.
  2. If i buy it now, it could be cheaper? But i might miss the flight if there is any hiccups

You should buy it online ASAP, as usually ticket prices go up nearer to departure date as the flight gets fuller.

As for which domestic airline to take, it depends on which is the cheapest. Do cater about 3 hours for immigration and customs at JFK, then re-check in and security before your domestic flight. Also, take note that most domestic airlines charge for checked baggage, while some minority do not, so take these into consideration when booking. It would also be best, if you can interline your baggage, meaning your bags are checked all the way to MCO, so at least you avoid the JFK - MCO baggage charge. This way, you still collect your bags at JFK, but after customs, go towards the direction for passengers with domestic flights, and you can drop your bags there (instead of lugging all the way to the correct domestic terminal and re-check in again). This should also mean you should have your onward boarding pass, so you do not have to go to check in counter again, just proceed straight through security.

If you buy now, should be much cheaper than at airport (usually with additional ticketing fee). Plus last minute fares are usually full fare (unless plane is super empty). If you miss the flight, you would probably have to buy another ticket, or top up the full fare (as you would have paid at ticketing counter), plus some change fee or no show fee.

Thanks Telur17 & fone!

I just booked my domestic flight from NYC to MCO. A pair of return tickets cost me USD$990.40. What do you think of the price then?

Btw, i notice Jet Blue is the only domestic airline that is free for the first baggage. Specially: Do take note of this when you are deciding which domestic airline to go with.

JetBlue:
Carry on: No fee
1st checked bag: No fee
2nd checked bag: US$50.00

Delta:
Carry on: No fee
1st checked bag: US$25.00/CA$25.00
2nd checked bag: US$35.00/CA$35.00

American Airline:
Carry on: No fee
1st checked bag: US$25.00
2nd checked bag: US$35.00

I might be wrong but it sounds ex to me. :p Could be because you are flying on Fri which tends to be more ex. Think if fly mid-week should be cheaper. Enjoy!

I agree on pricing, I'd get for US$300 each (already considered expensive).

he buy tickets later and flying on a Friday. Can't be helped I guess.

There's so many domestic airlines to try, unless he is limiting his choices to those 3 he listed. Even with checked bag fee, some airlines can be cheaper. Those are the only 3 airlines with non-stop flights, how about transiting somewhere? Depending on TS, will he be willing to waste a few hours, transiting in another airport and save some money? During my student years, I did transit instead of flying direct to save money.

he is going on a honeymoon mah. And I think he is limited to flying from JFK since he lands at JFK.
