Yep, there won't be a problem. The US has perfected the art of the good, clean, cheap roadside chain motel; when it gets time to hunt for a place to stay, just pull up the HotelTonight app and see what's around you for cheap.

Big shout thanks to the contributors here (especially Shiny Things). I'm here in Creekside Inn for a night stay after a Scenic Drive from Yosemite thru Tiogo Pass and Highway 395 towards Bishop. Weather here (SF & Yosemite) has been cold with light breeze. The experience has been Great and it has been made easier with contributor's advices! Forward on to Death Valley and LV in Day 5.....

he is going on a honeymoon mah. And I think he is limited to flying from JFK since he lands at JFK.

Aiya, I'm just giving ideas for people to save money, not necessarily for him. Say need to go JFK - MCO, direct flight cost US$500, but if JFK - EWR - MCO cost $300, some will take it. Just giving the idea to those looking to save some money and have time to spare.

Indeed, it is a honeymoon trip. I opt for direct flight (Jet Blue) between JFK and MCO. If anyone is curious to know, i am flying to MCO on this Friday and coming back on the following Tuesday.

Damage: USD$990.40
JFK: 1.59pm
MCO: 4.55pm
Duration 3 hours

MCO: 3.40pm
JFK: 6.29pm
Duration: 3 hours

The only way i console myself is i did a search in the same day and timing in October 15. It only cost USD$835.68. Oh well! But i should be thankful to you both that i purchased it a few days back. Or else the prices will have gone up further when i purchase it onsite.

Thanks once again fone & Telur17!!! :D

There's so many domestic airlines to try, unless he is limiting his choices to those 3 he listed. Even with checked bag fee, some airlines can be cheaper. Those are the only 3 airlines with non-stop flights, how about transiting somewhere? Depending on TS, will he be willing to waste a few hours, transiting in another airport and save some money? During my student years, I did transit instead of flying direct to save money.

Hi everyone! Just wondering for those that have successfully redeemed a hotel via myvegas slot. Do you actually have to call the hotel personally to book the room? Can I do it via email?

United / Delta Airlines Baggage Dimensions

I have a few domestic flights from LAX to LAS (Delta) then to MCO (United) then to EWR (United).

Does anyone knows if they are extremely strict in enforcing maximum baggage dimensions for checked baggage (158 linear cm), carry-on bag (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm) and personal item (22 cm x 25 cm x 43 cm) ?

Thanks.

United makes you to put bag into their sizers. If it won't fit, they will check it at the gate but you won't need to pay for it.

No idea about others.

Nope, you need to call the hotel - all the details are in the redemption email. Don't forget to sign up for an MLife account first, as well. (I snagged two midweek nights at the Mandalay Bay - it worked beautifully.)

Checked baggage maybe, carry-ons definitely. The general idea is that you need to be able to fit the carry-on in the overhead bin, and the personal item under the seat in front of you.

thanks for the info! unfortunately there are some changes to the rules recently, it seems like one player can only redeem for one comp night for one trip, and all the comp night are fully redeemed. as for the comp night bonus, the dates dont fit into my travel schedule. oh wells, i have 250K loyalty points, guess i can only exchange for buffets etc.

btw for those who have been to LA before, is it okay if i hang out til like around 8pm at night? will it be too dangerous for 2 ladies?

They reload the available nights pretty frequently - once a day, I think - so keep on checking.

Depends which part of town. In West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica or Venice Beach - totally yes. Hollywood itself - probably. Downtown LA - probably, but why would you want to, it shuts down at 6pm anyway.

Quick note for anyone thinking of doing the West Coast - the Tioga Pass out the back of Yosemite is now open, and all the snow in the Sierras has melted, so your road between San Francisco and Las Vegas should be clear until at least October.

Hi all, want to do a check for LA, getting a Go Card for attractions is definitely more worth it? Will be visiting for around 3-4 days (1 day Universal Studios) in end Oct. Any recommendation for accomodation (Airbnb, hotel etc) ? Thank you!

planning a trip to Calif next year, addicted to hiking after my trip to the Alps in France & Switz.

Anyone got any experience hiking/climbing in Yosemite? Other places that have insane scenery? I'm not limited to just Calif, willing to go to Utah as well.

Also, wanna do an extensive wine tasting tour in wine country, love my cab sauvs/syrahs from Calif, any recommendations? Hoping to visit Oakville :D

Was checking domestic flights and Southwest is doing a promo ending June 4th, OAK-LAX, SFO-LAX i checked is only $49 one-way. I'm guessing Southwest is the only airline giving 2 free luggage checkin?
