Thanks both. patryn33 you are right to think i refer to the industry normal price range. :D

Acceptable price?
I accept $600 to $1.2k, but my range no one falls to what I can accept no use. Your qns is what industry normal price range when can you get lowest priced fare? Is LA your final destination?

My in law flew and we paid usd$350 for his round trip last yr. That's the lowest I seen

Why check on Zuji instead of on the airline (in this case Qatar) website?

It's $1,121.90 on Qatar's website (+- one/two days)

When there are promos on Delta, fares can be slightly below $1k or just slightly above $1k. China Eastern, Air China, promo prices below $1k, sometimes $800 to $900 range. Air China can do open-jaw with quite a number of US/Canada cities.

Hi everyone. I need some suggestions for my almost finalised road trip for 2 in April17.

Currently I have 2 routes in mind and was wondering which is the better choice of the 2?
Route A or Route B.

Route A https://www.google.com.sg/maps/dir/...ff23f5ab!2m2!1d-118.4911912!2d34.0194543!3e0

Route B
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/San...5ff23f5ab!2m2!1d-118.4911912!2d34.0194543!3e0

The difference is that route A will be heading to Antelope Canyon from LV but B would be to Grand Canyon south rim from LV.
Wondering which of these itinerary are more a feasible one? Hoping to see if I am able to hit the week where there are free entries to the National Park at Yosemite and Grand Canyon. Was thinking of heading to Muir Woods in SF but my concerned is that its going to be a tat too tight for the last week in LA.
I have some spare days and was wondering where else could I head to. I'm torned between the two premium outlet (DESERT HILLS & CAMARILLO PREMIUM OUTLETS) and was wondering if anyone could advise on which might be a better location? From the map desert hills would be a more ideal choice and given that this outlet has got more stuff to shop, it might be a better choice for me.
Would it be possible to squeeze in Disneyland at Anaheim??
I'm planning to go with Hertz or Avis for car rental. Anyone has bad experience with them?
Thanks for the suggestions!

Hihi

based on this route of yours, is there a option to cut through Yosemite?

Is this route possible?[/URL]

Not for your dates. The road I think you're looking at (the Tioga Pass road) is snowed in all winter; it typically doesn't open until sometime between late-May and mid-June. This is a shame, because it's an AMAZINGLY beautiful drive, and it gives you a great opportunity for a side-trip to see the four-thousand-year-old bristlecone pine trees up in the White Mountains. Come back in summer and do it again.

And i was thinking to dump the car once I reach Vegas then rent it once I leave for Grand Canyon. When i reach LA i shouldnt be needing the car even if i were to head to Santa Monica?

You'll need some sort of wheeled transport. Transportation in LA is awful awful awful; you should be able to get by with Uber, though.

Take route A, because it gives you the opportunity to drop in on Zion National Park, which is an incredible sight. It might be a little snowier, but that's fine; just drive slowly.

I'm planning to go with Hertz or Avis for car rental. Anyone has bad experience with them?

I like Avis because they've got a Starwood tie-up. Hertz is pretty good too, but they're a bit more expensive.

Whichever way you go, sign up for the rental company's rewards program - this lets you prebook and go straight to your car instead of having to queue for hours at the check-in counter.

5 Napa  Are there parking slots available?

Yes.

6 Yosemite
7 Yosemite
8 Yosemite

This is too much; one afternoon in Yosemite is probably fine. Push on to Death Valley instead.

19 LA
20 LA
21 Santa Monica
22 LAX

So, first thing: Santa Monica is in Los Angeles; it's effectively a suburb. You'll want to stay in Santa Monica or West Hollywood for your LA/Santa Monica days, and use taxis or a rental car (probably taxis) to get around.

Yep, this is totally doable, and it's a great idea! A few tips:

  • Redwood National Park is pretty small, and there's not a lot of cities nearby; I like staying in the little cluster of motels in Arcata, and eating in the small town of Eureka just down the road. Try the Humboldt Bay Bistro.
  • In Napa, I've raved upthread about doing a bike tour through the Yountville wineries. Definitely do this.
  • In Big Sur, stay at the Glen Oaks Big Sur (unless you are super fancy and can afford the Post Ranch Inn), and eat at Nepenthe);
  • You might want to spend a night in Pismo Beach on the way down to Santa Barbara as well; it's a cute little beach town.
  • In LA, stay in Santa Monica or West Hollywood, not LA itself. LA is a soulless hellscape; West Hollywood is a soulless hellscape as well but at least it has good bars.

If u enjoy nature and love the hikes 3 days Yosemite is good but U don't really 1st or last day u traveling in or out. Easier if u state the on day if you traveling out to the city. Plan to arrive what time.

I suggest you allocate a few days for seattle..one day or two for the city self, then another couple days in the Washington state countryside. Dont forget to visit Mt Rainier National Park

I've stayed there, but didn't try the buffet. Couple of notes:

  • The Mirage is a great place to stay, and relatively cheap - if you're there midweek you might be able to swing an upgrade to a suite for relatively cheap. Try slipping the check-in clerk a twenty or a fifty and asking if there's any upgrades available.
  • If you want a really good buffet, though: the creme de la creme is Bacchanal, at Caesars Palace. Get there early though: the queue can be bananas around the usual lunch/dinner hours. The Wynn buffet is also excellent, and apparently has great vegetarian options if that's your thing; Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan is pretty great too, and has a particularly good dessert bar.
  • Don't go cheap with the buffets, you won't be impressed. I've eaten at the Paris Las Vegas buffet as well - it's shoved in the basement, it's drab, and the food's nothing special. You really do get what you pay for.
