I like to check if the transit time in Los Angeles airport is sufficient: 1hr 59m.

My flight as below:
Akaska Airline: Las Vegas (LAS) -> LAX Terminal 6: Arrive 15:51
SQ Flight: LAX Terminal B: Depart 17:50 -> Seoul -> Singapore

I read there is shuttle bus every 10min. Should i take the bus or walk?
Do i need go through additional screening at LAX.

Please advise. Thanks!

There is a connecting walkway from T6 to Terminal B. It should not take more than 15mins.

Which part of Florida? I’m assuming you’re going to be up near Orlando?

Anyway, can I suggest just sitting on the beach for a couple of days and relaxing? If you’re heading over to Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach anyway, why not stay there for a few days?

Get a cheapish motel by the beach, wake up late, go for a walk in the sand and a swim in the morning, and just enjoy being on holiday. You don’t need to have an activity planned for every single day of your holiday.

I'm looking at Orchard Garden Hotel or The Orchard Hotel. Any one has any review on these 2? Seems like both are relatively close to each other and near to Chinatown.

I will be there 1st Sept - 6 Sept, so probably won't hit much of any big convention in SF.

Understand snow chain may be needed in Yosemite during early March
Any recommendation as any rental near HW41 or where can we purchase it?
It seems car rental company does not allow snow chain to be fixed and if it request by the ranger, it will be an issue. How often that snow chain is needed during early March?

Ignore the rental companies. If there's snow around, you should be able to rent chains somewhere near the park. (Also, if there's chain controls on CA-41, you still might be able to get into the park without chains on CA-120.)

Other good option: rent a 4WD car. You might still have to carry chains just in case if there's snow, but there's lower odds you'll need to fit them.

Yes, going to Orlando. And yes too, will visit Cocao Beach but just for a day.
Had initially planned 2 nights in Daytona Beach (Miami is a little too far). But kids not too keen in beach or race car musuem.

Will be heading for swamp boat ride. I believe there should be some ATV ride or sort, but cannot find from internet.

Calling on veterans for a signpost. Having done the quintessential SF > LV > LA with detours to Zion and Antelope, what would be my options for the next American road trip? Prefer not to re-visit :)

The Grand Circle tour is basically a loop starting from LV-Grand Canyon, Antelope, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce Canyon and a few others. Great roadtrip with wide open spaces and spectacular rock scenery. If you have more time, can detour north to Yellowstone and Grand Teton but that adds quite a few miles.

Stay on the west side—West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica are your best bets. Marina Del Rey and Venice are fine too, but they're a little further from the action.

Avoid:
  • Hollywood proper, it's kind of crowded and crappy;
  • Downtown LA, it's empty and crappy;
  • In fact, anywhere other than the five neighborhoods above. The exception is if you want to go to Disneyland; if you do that, stay around Anaheim the night before so you can get to the park first thing.

Do:
  • A studio tour! The Warner Bros studio tour is a ton of fun; Universal is a bit more of a theme park but it's not bad;
  • Eat at a celebrity hangout restaurant and try to spot a celebrity (Boa Steakhouse is a good bet, but it's a ******* to get reservations);
  • Catch some live music and/or comedy on Sunset Strip;
  • Try the food in Koreatown if that's your jam;
  • LACMA (if you like art) and the La Brea Tar Pits (if you like paleontology) are pretty good fun too.

Hi Shiny Things, since you are here too,

I wanna thank you here :s12::s12:

Im booking my Warner Brother studio tour.

The period i am at, there will be the once a month flea market on the sunday, ill bring my parents to check it out.

I have also booked a hotel @ hollywood stretch :s12::s12:

Im still planning more of the itenary

Summer or winter?

In summer, I'd do Yellowstone and the Tetons:

  • Fly into the absolutely beautiful mountain town of Jackson. Rent a car—you'll need one to get around—but you'll want to spend a few days based in Jackson.
  • Visit Grand Teton National Park, see the scenery;
  • Do a wildlife safari; maybe even go river-rafting (it's very very relaxed, no white-water unless you want it);
  • When you're ready, pack your pic-a-nic basket and drive north into Yellowstone National Park. Find a hotel in Gardiner (my preference) or West Yellowstone, and use that as a base to explore the park for a solid two or three days. Start early, finish late, make sure you catch the sunset in the park if you're a photographer because the light is sublime.

If you want to extend this trip, there's plenty of ways:
  • Fly in to Denver instead, and drive up to Jackson. You can cross the Rocky Mountains on Trail Ridge Road, the highest navigable through-road in the USA; stop off in the cute little college-and-cowboy town of Laramie; drive through miles of beautifully deserted scenery in Medicine Bow National Forest...
  • After Yellowstone, head out the northeast exit of the park, across the stupendously beautiful Beartooth Pass—miles and miles of sublimely twisty mountain roads, with magical views of the Bear's Tooth, followed by a descent into the cute little town of Red Lodge.
  • You can also keep going waaaayyyyy up north to Glacier National Park, and see the glaciers before climate change takes them. Drive Going-To-The-Sun Road; admire the pristine scenery; and enjoy the little Montana villages.
.

If you're doing it in winter, obviously, all this is going to be snowed in, so you'll want to go south, and it doesn't get much further south than Key West. This can be a much shorter trip if you want: fly in to Miami, and you can be down at Key West within a day, but you might get more enjoyment out of making a bigger trip out of it:
  • Fly into Orlando and do a day at Disneyworld to shut the anklebiters up;
  • Pop over to Cape Canaveral and tour the Space Shuttle launch site;
  • Then head back over to the Gulf coast, and turn south. Visit the mermaids at Weeki Wachee Springs!
  • Keep going further south... further... no, even further than that. Don't turn east until you reach US-41, the Tamiami Trail. It carves across the Everglades, the "river of grass" and wetlands that makes up the entire southern end of Florida. Take a jetboat tour through the Everglades; explore the natural beauty of the place.
  • When you reach Miami, take a break. Park yourself in one of the cute art-deco hotels in South Beach and admire what the city has done to keep the vibe of the place alive.
  • Then, when you're ready, head south out of Miami. The Overseas Highway launches you along the Florida Keys, and it is truly something special—a chain of subtropical islands, linked by one solitary bridge, stretching a hundred miles or more out into the Gulf, with blue water and green trees the whole way along. There's great seafood everywhere along the drive, and a friendly vibe in Key West when you make it there. You might even find you don't want to come back.

Hi guys. Just a question do you guys still see the value of global entry? I mean the ESTA provide digital clearance liAo. So the time saved is less significant compared to the past. So is it still worth it?

Global Entry comes with TSA Precheck, which let's you go through TSA a lot faster......

You can argue that you can just get TSA Precheck on its own....

Advice needed from veterans:)
I have 10 days for travel next June, and would like to know if it is sufficient to do a New York + brief Canada (mainly the fall and Quebec) trip. We can drive too, if needed
Btw, it's our first time to the US

10 days will be quite tight. I spent three days in Montreal, one day (overnight) in Toronto, and another 2 days in Niagara Falls (including bus and getting to Buffalo) and didn't get to visit Quebec City. That's 6 days already. And I felt that I didn't have sufficient days in Toronto. Wanted to go to Ottawa too but no time. I was in NYC for 2 weeks. Does your 10 days include or exclude international flights?

Excluding flight... but I haven't book anything yet, so am still flexible with the places to visit in US.

Otherwise, will the West Coast be a better place for us to explore given our tight schedule?

how is west coast a better place if you consider California, Oregon and Washington State, combine land area is bigger than new york and the quebec and ontario area imho.

if U driving from NYC->Niagara->Old Quebec city one way its just 15hrs.
west coast from San Jose to Seattle is like 24hrs, else u really going Cali not west coast.
