I'm still planning my itinerary in NYC, but can't really do much as it's only a few days. Probably one day for the day-tour, one day for shopping around the city, then last day for museums and central park? If you need cheap accommodation, check out clickbed.com

I'll be going to Orlando for studies, so no itinerary there. :o
ahh alright.

where you planning to shop at?
goodluck with your studies. will check that website out. thanks!

Maid of the mist just goes near to the falls and U get the chance to get wet. the journey behind the falls is another great attraction that is open all yr round. I wouldn't miss niagara falls even the Maid of the Mist isn't operational. Ask yourself how likely will U go to that part of the world again?

I have to say the best thing happening in Jan there is the ice wine festival that is happening on 14 Jan to 30 Jan. I been there 1 yr and had always hope to return again.

Yeah true... I'm still very keen on visiting niagara falls those. they have other attractions there too the last time I went to n.falls website like the broadwalk etc.

;/ will only be departing on 25-28march, coming back mid april or so?

it's true...no way you can do one NYC museum properly in just a couple of hours. some museums would take you dayS to complete really.

not watching any musicals in NYC? that's also a nice experience.

i was in NYC for a week in my last trip...and i still didn't feel like i've done all that i wanna do :p
Would it be cheaper to buy those broadway tickets when im in ny itself or I can just buy online now too?:)

Ahh. Grr I'm so fickle-minded. Discussed a bit with my father earlier. I'm not too sure if we're still going to Orlando? If I were to skip universal studios and the disney world in orlando...will orlando still be worth a visit? ny-orlando return air tickets cost about $250 sing.

If the maid of the mist is operational in april, we will visit the niagara falls. :)

would it be convenient to stay at like the outskirts of ny then? will it be convenient to go to the city area of new york itself? so...I can start looking at hotels in new jersey right? what about brooklyn?

thanks man. appreciate all of your help.

I'll be staying in New Jersey. Preferably near a train station - about 2 hrs train ride to NYC though. It's way lot cheaper than staying in the city itself.

I'm already bz looking ard for winter wear now with all the end of season sales in SG. Hopefully it doesn't turn bad like the weather did in Frankfurt. ;(

I checked out the ticket prices.. 200+ for a musical >.<

Also not to miss, go get tickets to watch NBA matches! (if u're a basketball fan). But the ticket prices turned me off... would rather spend on shopping instead :s22:

its alot cheaper, just that some ppl don't feel comfortable returning to hotel at 8-9pm when the train is loaded with African American.

not all musicals are SO EXPENSIVE! there are some in the 50ish range....and even if you are in the last few rows...it usually ain't too bad 'cos some of the theatres are quite small.

patryn,

are there any other states that I can visit? Going to new york for sure. then maybe a 2d1n trip to niagara...or just a day trip. Washington DC probably too.

Because I feel that if I don't go to universal studios and disney world, then there wouldn't be a point in going to orlando...correct me if im wrong.

most of us(my group) arent too interested in the arts/museums. any other places we could visit?

thanks man.

no interest in any Museums.. hmm

NYC - Status of Liberty, www.intrepidmuseum.org, Empire state Building, Wall street, 5th Ave, Broadway shows, outlet shopping, Soho shopping, little italy.

there are lots of good restaurants in NYC.

DC - check out all the monuments, white house. the rest are history/arts museums.

Orlando there are kennedy space center and SeaWorld! Everglades, Daytona too.
ep the Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) at Kennedy Space centre thats cool

hello! im new to this thread and was hoping to find some info for my trip to usa in july with 3 other girls. we are planning to go for 3 weeks, probably giving 1wk to the east and 2 wks to the west. however we are abit unsure of how to go about it.

also, for the east side, is it alright to say that the must-gos are niagara falls, tour around new york(including wall street, empire state builiding, times sq, united nation headquarters, rockefellar enter), philadelphia (liberty bell and independence hall), DC (white house, capitol hill) and Boston (quincy market, state house)

is there any that can be missed since time is rather tight?
oh. and has anyone been to hershey's chocolate world at harrisburg? read about some chocolate making but not sure whether it's really worth the time.

thanks for reading and/ helping. really need it! :)

1 week in Northeast
U listed 5 places, each city 1 day? and NYC and DC 2 days each? exclude traveling time and checking into hotel/motel/hostel? No shopping?

White House tour, time to write in already and see what kinda schedule they give U. U may wanna plan around that.

flying from east to west cost a bomb.
U might as well focus on just Northeast coast.
I used 21days and still find it rush.
I covered NYC,Boston,Philly, DC, Niagara, Toronto, Montreal, Old Quebec city
for young ppl NYC alone is a easy 5 days trip!
