Yes - though just quietly I've forgotten it a few times and never been pulled up on it.

And carryon luggage need TSA lock anot?

No, you don't need to lock your carry-on luggage. The TSA locks are for your checked baggage.

Someone on Reddit posted and said that the US National Park system is the best thing on earth. He is right. For all the high speed industrialization and advance in technology, John Muir and Teddy Roosevelt made the right decision early last century to pass laws to protect these places.

LJIEh4v.jpg

Compare this to the blatant commercial exploitation of natural locations in China, the US National Parks made it available for all easily. Even the National Parks Pass is dirt cheap to get and go to all the Federal protected parks.

BTW the location of this place is Chimney Rock in Colorado.

Yo, i planning my US, Jap trip this dec, mayb abit too early but want get things started. I only want to visit these few cities so the flight path mayb not so efficient. and i got some qns if you guys mayb can advise :

Flight path:
Sin --> nyc
Nyc --> las
Las --> nrt
Nrt --> sin

I browsed thru a few airlines, ana, jal, cathay and united, and the cheapest i came across is united - abt 3.2sgd. I read a few other threads, seems like united air is not so good? Can anyone shares their exp with united air, pls?

Brief itinerary:
Nyc: 20th - 25th dec (5nights)
Las: 25th - 28th dec (3nights)
Tokyo: 29th dec - 3rd jan (5nights)

For las, i will be staying either at bellagio or venetian. For tokyo, will be staying at hotel sunroute plaza shinjuku.
Can anyone recommend a hotel at nyc? i prefer to stay near times sq, my budget hopefully not more than 250usd per night. TIA

United is terrible.
Highly not recommended ezp on such long flights.

3.2k seems a bit high.

Here are zome options u can explore.
1. Buy a round the world ticket on any of the 3 major airline alliances like one world, star alliance or skyteam.

2. Buy 2 round trip tickets.
One from sin to nyc via nrt.
The other from nyc to las.
Problem with this is that u have to backtrack from las to nyc and that can take up a whole day just flying and subject to bad winter weather.
U can get a stopover at nrt on the way back.

Ya, i kinda worried abt bad weather for nyc-las-nyc.

United is terrible becoz of their ife, leg space or their service?

NYC is infamous for weather delays during winter time especially at Newark airport.

United is bad because of food, service, leg space(32"), IFE.
Pretty much everything.

On domestic USA, it is ok but not international.

Service depends on luck, some are good, others are bad. Leg space quite similar to other airlines. IFE only 777 have, 747 no personal IFE in economy.

Ok.
So can we say the same for delta air, in terms of flying international - same route, coz they are the 2nd cheapest after united.

True.

It is. One should check ITA Matrix first

1. Buy a round the world ticket on any of the 3 major airline alliances like one world, star alliance or skyteam.

Makes no sense. Flights originated from SIN would cost him $5K in Economy for the RTW fare. Checked today.

2. Buy 2 round trip tickets.

Problem with this is that u have to backtrack from las to nyc and that can take up a whole day just flying and subject to bad winter weather.

Affirmative. But options are available. I'd suggest to fly with ANA to JFK and from JFK/LGA/EWR fly to LAS using southwest/jetblue/virgin america. It shoudl cost less than SIN $2.5k for both roundtrip flights.

Options you have:

1) Book SQ SIN - JFK, LAX - SIN, then price out your internal flights (JFK - LAS, optional LAS - LAX, if you decide to drive).

2) NH can also include domestic flights on UA, so might be slightly cheaper

3) SQ SIN - LAX round trip, then book domestic flights.

have tried this ita matrix and try out a few combi yesterday on a few airlines;
travel dates: 20th dec - 3rd jan

1) sin - nyc, nyc - tokyo (stopover tokyo) - sin.
ana & sq = ~3.1k, jal = ~3.4k
- haven add domestic from nyc - las - nyc

2) sin - lax/sfo, lax/sfo - tokyo (stopover tokyo) - sin
ana = ~2.3k, jal = ~2.7k, sq = ~2.9k
haven add domestic from lax/sfo - nyc , nyc - las, las - lax/sfo

3) sin - las, las - tokyo (stopover tokyo) - sin
ana = ~3.1k, jal = ~2.7k, sq = ~8k (zzzzz, so exp)
haven add domestic from las - nyc - las

4) sin - nyc, sfo/lax - tokyo (stopover tokyo) - sin
ana, jal & sq = ~3k
haven add domestic from nyc - las - sfo/lax

5) sin - nyc, las - tokyo (stopover tokyo) - sin
ana = ~3.3k, sq = ~9k, jal = ~2.6k (cheapest liao)
haven add domestic from nyc - las

item 5 is the cheapest of the lot so far, if add domestic it should add up to borderline 3k all in. any comments, pls?

Few hundred adds up to 10 to 20% of air ticket, quite insignificant for me. Few options you can go for:

1) As much SQ as possible
2) As little domestic flights as possible (ie NRT - JFK etc)
3) Cheapest possible

I'd go for (1) personally.
