Recommendations? Any other webbie to look for good promo besides hotwire and priceline?

Stayed at King George in April. Good location definitely.

If I use hotwire/priceline, San Fran U Square west or east. What price to start?

It was Union Square east! Haha USD490 (after tax,room alone was USD138 per night) for 3 people for 3 nights. I checked the hotel website it self should be around USD700

Remember you can use betterbidding.com as a guide to which hotel you will get depending on the location/price range. That's how I narrowed it down.

Priceline SG is not good as compared to the US website.

Maybe I should use hotwire.

cheap theres none,the airport hotels are not cheap but you can actually just sleep at the airport

Any allegiance to any hotel chains? Try La Quinta LAX (2 to 3 stars) or Four Points by Sheraton. I believe Westin sells for about $80 a night via Hotwire. Sheraton Gateway about $150 a night, last I stayed. Many other nice hotels in the area with free shuttle service. I've stayed at Hilton too when my internal flight delayed such that I missed my SQ flight back to sg.

None? Airport hotels near LAX can get as low as less than $100 per night. I've stayed at Sheraton for only $150+ per night, not that ex as Sheratons elsewhere ($300++). Moreover, if you use opaque booking websites (priceline / hotwire), you can probably get less than $100 for 4 - 5 star hotels. btw, I believe LAX closes at night, unlike Changi, or at least you might have to share the place with the homeless / guards at night. Also, there's nothing land-side at LAX except for the foodcourt (plus some other shops) at TBIT and the sci-fi restaurant in the middle, unlike in changi where you will still have shops before check-in / security. It is highly not recommended to stay overnight in LAX, even if it is possible.

Check in opens like 2 to 3 hours before flight. Sleep at hotel with luggage, then take the free shuttle to airport (assuming staying at airport hotel).

woodbury vs other outlets

Hi all,

Will be going to US for about 3 weeks this coming Sep 2, will be visiting SF, NY (with Niagara), Philly (stopby few hours between train ride from NY to DC), DC, Orlando, Vegas (with Grand Canyon). Had been going thru this forum and get valuable info. Thanks for everyone sharing info here.

We originally planned to go to premium outlet in Orlando (International Dr or Vineland) and Vegas (North), since they are within proximity, so doesn't need to go out of town for it.
Currently considering if Woodbury also worth a visit ? But it's about 1+ hr each way from NY. By bus will cost about USD40+ /pax, both of us will cost more than USD80 just for transport. Have also check car rental for the day if going to woodbury, cost about the same or a bit less, but more convenient probably if self-drive.
But the thing is since we can visit premium outlet in Orlando and Vegas which is nearer and cost less in transport (staying at Radisson Lake Buena Vista in Orlando, and Bill's at center Strip in Vegas), seems can take public bus to these outlets (no need for out of town bus) or even a cab maybe, please correct me if wrong. So does it worth the cost and time to go to Woodbury, or we can forgo Woodbury and stick with Orlando and Vegas ?

Yes, prices and discounts actually differ from outlet to outlet, stocks are generally similar (at least for Coach).
As for tax, there's no refunds and different state got different taxes, kindly check them out first.

Its okay to not drive in Vegas but you should because parking is mostly free! I didn't drive around Vegas because we only rented the car to go to the outlet and to Grand Canyon. We walked everywhere, although it was very hot There's also a monorail but it's not as cheap as the bus. Considering how much we were eating (almost every meal at buffet), it was good for us to walk around

Jeep Liberty, rented from Hertz. Can't remember how much per day. Was an upgrade actually. Good thing we got that car because we had so much luggage.

For domestic flights, we can also add "car rental". Is it cheaper this way or just book separately?

Sometimes I observe some companies the car rental can be like 50% difference say comparing Full size car category to be fair. Hmmm...

If you're above 25 (i think thats the age), you can use those discount sites like priceline etc. I'm under that age so cannot use those. I didn't try to add car rental leh.
