My interest is more on sight seeing and some tourist place plus some shopping.

Any1 stayed at super 8? Is the location gd? I think the usahostel looks good but no air con. So i was wondering the temperature there is it very hot during end Jul.

SF i got a the typical list of attractions to go taken from this thread:

- Alcatraz
Take the night tour. Book from Alcatraz Island - Official Tickets Site - Guaranteed Lowest Price
- Fisherman’s Wharf
- Pier 39
Combine this into one but food at Fishermans Wharf is the pits. Better food elsewhere.
Go there ssrr is best. Don't buy souvenirs from there. Better from Walgreens. Usually cheaper.
- Chinatown
- Union Square
Very near to each other. If you are strong, fit and the kids are not with you,
you can walk Chinatown and Union Sq in one day. Heck I walk from Pier 33 (Embarcadero) to Union Sq.
- Palace of Fine Arts
Unless you are arty farty, give this place a miss but if you are, great treat.
- Lombard Street
Just a small street. Take the Cable Car Powell/Hyde Line up to the top and then walk down to the bottom and then take Cable Car
Powell/Mason Line back to Union Sq or continue to the end and shop at the Cost Plus World Market.
- Golden Gate Bridge

- Yosemite

Is there those tour that i can travel from SF to LA?

Thanks

U can book their internal flight from respective airline website but only United Aitline can earn Kris flyer miles points
JetBlue, united airline, virgin America, frontier airline.

But if I were u, I will rent a car and drive all the way from SF to LA, worth to see the scenery along the way.

My personal feel is that SF is generally much safer than NYC although there are many homeless ppl ard.

U seem really scared.
it is generally safe esp in touristy area.
of course bad ppl can target this area to attack, with that it does become extremely dangerous.

what is your budget still usd$200? no hotel will try to rent out US$500 room in dangerous location.

Bid for your hotel then. Go to Cheap & Discount Travel Deals, Flights & Hotels | Hotwire.com to do it. Just be careful. Bidding for your hotel is very addictive.

Don't go to the Singapore Priceline site to bid for hotel rooms. Not worth it. Priceline USA does not seem to let me bid for a room and directed me to Priceline SG. So the only bidding site you can go to is Hotwire.

A word of caution. SF hotels are never known to be cheap. I suggest you go bidding with that budget you have in mind. Maybe lower if you dare.

I stayed on at the Grant Plaza. Run by Chinese since it is just next to the Chinatown gateway.

I highly advise you to take their night tour. The setting sun on Alcatraz makes for good photo opportunities.

Car Rental

Hey guys,

Need some help. Traveling to US in Aug-Oct on both coast and trying to find a good car rental company. Will be between age 23 and 24 there. Is there any way to go around the underage driver fee? Heard it's quite expensive and cost about 25usd per day.

I'll be going to Mexico for my exchange term, but will be heading to LA for 4 days, and then to NY for about a week after that. Will most likely be doing it alone.

Any areas which I should avoid? I'll be staying in hostels. :)

Hi Guys,
I am looking to travel from Sin to US west coast, San Fransico self-drive to LA and LV, and take domestic flight either from LA or LV to NYC before fly back to Sin in DEC.

I need help on the itinerary on the best route to cover for the above places so I can cover most places of attractions and cut down on back track and flight cost and time.

TIA broz...

People who have been to grand canyon, is the west rim or south rim better? Tried searching online and most pple seems to favour south rim. But from the itinerary from Papillion Tour, west rim seems to have more stops and its nearer to Las Vegas (typical Singaporean mentality i guess. Hahaha).

The below are the link for south and west rim respectively. Itinerary is shown on the second tab. Can someone advise? Thanks!

Las Vegas Grand Canyon South Rim and Hoover Damn Bus Tour - Papillon

Grand Canyon Bus Tours - Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour
