how early before must we apply ESTA ? how fast we get reply ? thanks !

Usually after you submit the application it's almost instant IIRC, just print out that confirmation email and photocopy many copies and keep one in every piece of luggage/bag/wallet you have. That's the next most important document besides your passport already.

winter in LA or Orlando isn't winter from what one imagine all white.
There is plenty of sunshine and no snow; better yet not that HOT.
so I don't see an issue going to Disneyland in Dec/Jan.

If it's LA/Orlando then it's comfortable. Because he said he wanted to spend X'mas/NYE in NYC so if he's flying either to/from theme park lands then shouldn't be much of a problem.

Thinking of heading to Seattle, Washington next year. Do anyone know whats the ideal period for booking a flight to USA around June 2013?
I checked the rates at several airlines and zuji - at present its from 2.1k onward.. in contrast to next few months which start from 1.7k(delta)

Also, is it advisable to have multiple separate flights booked? The cheapest example i found was China Southern from SIN - LAX(stopover Guangzhou) then a domestic Alaska Air flight from LAX to Seattle. In this case I will have to check in again after the intl flight right?

Not sure about the ideal period to book, but it feels rather early to book a June 2013 flight because most promotions are till end of this year only. So I guess you should try again around Jan - Feb 2013.

At LAX, you will need to get clear the immigration and bring your luggage out even if you are just transiting. So yeah, you will need to re-check in. At least that has been my experience transiting through LAX several times. Not sure if there are more practical options like at other airports.

Niagara Falls and Alcatraz are must visits for me :) You can visit the usual attractions in the cities you listed.

Thanks for your tip. I checked up LAX and people were saying the security clearance at terminals will take a couple hours especially during the busy summer period, so i guess i'll fly straight to Seattle instead. Another option is to fly to Vancouver and take the Amtrak train south(4 hours ride) but unless the airfare diff is significant, no point.

wife work while U use TX as a base to travel around. living apart for prolong period isn't easy.

plan U travelling with her on weekends or travelling without her?
Alaska is also good, Florida is a big state, not as big as Texas but still have lots to see.
Near Texas U have alot of interesting things to see too.

Hello!

Travelling to the US in mid-march. Planning to visit Orlando, New York etc etc. Haven't really decided on which city to go too.

Initially planned on going to vegas, california etc but they're a tad too far away. 5 hours flight from NY to Vegas?

What are some good travel sites that I can use to help plan my accomodation and itenary?

Any must visit places in ny/orlando/other cities. Like factory outelts, warehouse stores etc?

Thanks!

I always use Agoda, been to San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York & Las Vegas. For new york, the times square and broadway are the most famous places. Other than that, theme parks. If you are a thrill seeker, they have a six flags theme park which is a must visit. :s22: :s12:

You can also take their citytours if you are first time there.

Should I choose Qatar with 6h transit in Doha 1.7k, Emirates flight about 3h transit in Dubai 1.8k or Cathay Pacific 1h transit 2k?

Do u have any frequent flier plan with any of the carriers or alliances?

Based on time transit and cost, i would take Emirates.
