Anyway I did a booking with them. Will update accordingly. Good thing I find is the CDW and other insurance all covered already. Anything that an individual may want to add is the advance roadside assistance. The booking is also reflected in the car rental (alamo) company's website with the terms as stated in the booking

Not so early also. mid year then going. 1 thing to note is the cancellation terms. Carhire3000 required either a full payment (with free cancellation) or deposit (cancellation result in deposit forfeiture).

On the things to note. Make sure u know what is included and dont get cheated by the car rental office. Having said that, remember to get the travel insurance during this Natas holiday. Tenet having 45% discount. Dont bother with ACE. USA holiday is too far and too long to take the risk on some of the debatable TnC with Ace.

The prices are too cheap to believe. If you take a quick scan online there are mixed reviews of the rental site (and its various proxies)

I've used rentalcars.com for my last US trip, booked it for 2 cities and both times got Dollar car rental.
No problem at all except for a bit of hard sell on insurance at one location. Advantage of pre-paying was the separate counter for pre-paid vouchers at LAX - no one at all in the queue.

Errrr. Dollar. Dont choose them. Go read the dollar feedback in tripadvisor and there is a whole list of complaints. alamo for cheaper option. rate shld be similar to dollar.

Be careful about prepaying for any car rentals.
If for any reason the assigned car at check in is not sastifactory, you wont be able to cancel your booking and jump to other car rental agency at the airport coz it is usually non refundable.

If u book directly with the rental companies, u can cancel the reservations anytime up till 24 hours of the dates.

If u book directly with the rental companies, u can cancel the reservations anytime up till 24 hours of the dates.

Similar with the rental agency. 48hrs beforehand. Abt not happy cannot change, same with direct booking. Cuz is already over the cancellation period. Unless u walk in. And prepare to pay a bomb for it.

Thanks... have discussed with partner and we are likely to do a f&e thingy... still a bit concerned on the self drive part as partner is uncertain about driving right hand side. And I'm not a driver myself.

It'll be great. That's early spring, so the weather will be mild; we've had a dry winter, as well, so odds are it'll be great holiday weather. There might even be snow still up in the mountains if that's your thing.

I'd definitely do it by yourselves, not on a package tour - there are a zillion things you can see in this part of the world, and if you do it on a package tour you'll be tied down to what they want you to see. The package won't take you hiking in the Valley of Fire, or to the Gun Range in Las Vegas, or to Paraduxx Vineyard's tasting room in Napa (a personal fave of mine), or to Joshua Tree National Park, or to Palm Springs, or... you get the picture.

I'm deciding between carhire3000 and hertz.

reason being hertz has no mention of one way fee. (i'm hiring from Los angeles and returning at las vegas).
and researching on website / forum states that one way fee can be between 100-300 additional cost.

Carhire3000 mention there is free one way fee included. BUT when i advance to the next page, the T&C will state one way fee is not included in the fee. (if applicable).

anyone with experience on one way fee care to share?

dunnoe leh.. it will shows in USD/SGD on the website.. but when it goes to last payment page.. there is a sentence says it will be charge as GBP currency.

i realise another thing also.. if i go carhire website search.. the results always show free one way fees.. but on singaporeairline partner site search, it doesnt have that.. i read the TnC on both sites, it doesnt have that as well.

Need help. Searching for accommodation now for SF LA LV. any recommendations or areas that are more ideal to stay in? And which websites to book from? We intend to drive to yosemite, grand canyon, death valley and was thinking of doing last minute walk in at those places. Feasible ? Many thanks.
