By any chance anyone has signed up USA package tour with any travel agency and has good reviews to share? Looking to bring my wife to USA trip but since I'm the only driver and too busy to plan, eliminated the self-drive and free-and-easy parts of it...thanks!

the experience of self drive vs tour is too much, one day u wanna drive to in and out burger for supper, next day u may wanna go to a shop that the tour bus do not bring u.. for example BEST BUY, MICROCENTER, JCPENNY, SEARS , or maybe thrift shops like marshals, tjmaxx, ross , dont think tour bring u to these.. lots more to name... slowly see and slowly view.. may wana consider this point

for example in new york u will not need to drive.. u can always take subway and walk to for example cupcake atm, luke's lobster, shake shack...

Hi guys need some advice
Im going to LA and Orlando from 1st to 12 feb
1st to 7th in LV and 7-12th in Orlando.
Its my first trip to the US
Which factory outlet is the best from LV and Orlando?
(By best I'm asking about the number of more recognisable brands in the mall and the amount of discount and quality of goods, etc.)
Im more unsure about the stuff to do in Orlando and from what I've read on this thread much has been said more about the west coast.
Anybody been to Orlando and which theme parks are the best/better ones and which ones to avoid?
And what are the better stuff to do there other than the theme parks ( which I'm heading there mainly for)
Also is Feb a good time to be going to the theme parks? (Is it too cold, crowded etc?)

Im more reserved about the water theme parks as I'm afraid it may be too cold to be in the water. Im interested in discovery cove particularly the dolphin swimming experience but do u think its too cold?
Is it bearable to ride roller coasters in 20C? wouldn't the winds freeze your nose?
Is universal orlando better or islands of adventure?
And is winter wear appropriate in orlando like a coat/sweater etc when florida is considered hot? will the locals laugh at u?
Im also looking to visit target/best buy/ walmart in LV or orlando. Any recommendations for which outlet to go? Like which is biggest

hmm 20C temps and speed of coaster say 150 miles/hr (fastest known), temps will do down to 16.2C.
Online Conversion - Wind Chill Calculator

I don't know what to think, I have a higher cold tolerance.. today I wake up to -20C.

where in air conditioned place in SG, they set temps at 23-25C usually what do you wear? a sweater on top the 3 layers U wore under?

Americans don't care how u dress.

Biggest outlet in terms of sq area? or number of stores? most number of stores can get from the site I have provided, not hard to click, read, write it down on paper.
most outlets not much diff, only clearance section diff and it really depends on luck. Feb u get little summer/spring stuff on clearance. Mostly winter. All the Spring clothes are out and wouldnt differ much from outlet to outlet.

what to want to get at best buy, target, walmart? interesting.
I would go to place like TJ Max, Home goods, Ross, Marshalls.
then again u have to know which one to go, the ones in the rich neighborhood with very expensive houses are best.

Discovery Cove according to the below, water is heated... so can u take the cold coming from the waters walking to get towels, that 15-60 secs window?

Discovery Cove - Orlando - Reviews of Discovery Cove - TripAdvisor

I want to go to the best buys/target/walmart to see what the americans have in store haha just a little curiosity on my part.

I think ill skip discovery cove as i think it may be just a tad too cold for me especially being in the water and the dolphin lagoon's water is 22C based on the website.

Is one day at one theme park okay?

Any must dos in LV/Orlando and must eats?

I think I've decided on LV's north premium outlets

las vegas premium outlet will be lower tax than those in los angeles by a little.. so should be ok ,but probably los angeles outlet selection is more, usually i go to this one near la town, CITADEL outlet : https://www.google.com.sg/maps/plac...1s0x80c2ce52e4989c85:0x4a4a7c734d953990?hl=en

but try to plan your OUTLETS visit to weekday and not weekend, coz usually more crowded...esp when there is a big holiday nearing in usa, avoid outlets during weekends

Hi all, thanks for the replies regarding my west coast US trip some time ago. I will reply one by one soon. :)

I'm still finalizing my itinerary. I'm either taking EVA air or SQ, price difference is about $300 (SQ is more expensive at ~$1800 vs EVA air at ~$1500), both airlines are having promotions right now. Which airlines should I take? I have taken SQ before and I'm quite happy with the service. I'm not sure whether to switch to EVA air for the cheaper fares, I have not taken EVA air before, any reviews?

I will be taking the following route: SIN-SFO/LAX-SIN. For SIN-SFO, both SQ and EVA air are operating the B777-300ER. SQ is operating A380 for LAX-SIN leg, while EVA air is operating B777-300ER instead.

google for "sam's club day pass"
u can get a tour of sam's club.
walmart and target is like carrefour.
best buy not my place usually, I like frys better (www.frys.com)

is Disneyworld 1 park of several parks?

no real Must do and Must eat.
gambler says must gamble in vegas.. I am not those.
check out the hotels on the strip and downtown if u want. there are free shows in the hotels.
Orlando - into Disney sure Disneyworld is on plan.. I have ppl who skip that as well.

base on your interest and what u like to makan and maybe budget, ppl here suggest. if u not willing to spend say $100 each person, not going to suggest place that cost $200. what food u not into.
vegas we love www.payard.com macarons, we felt its better than the Paris France Ladurée macaron.

my suggestion for outlet shopping is shoot for 1 in vegas and 1 in orlando if possible if u are into shopping. if u drive go to TJ Max, Marshalls etc.
if u into watches Tag heuer at outlet at times have 50% sale, Movado Company Store has Ebel and they can go for 70% off.
suggestion bring a small bag and buy suitcase here. Suitcase like Samsonite in Marshalls or TJ Max are under us$100 easy. the big lite ones around usd$90 before tax usually. into Tumi can get it at outlet.
outlet like Johnston & Murphy always has the buy 3 get 1 free deal.
Cole Haan no such deal. clearance section varies from location to location

thanks so much for your response :)

Budget is around 250 per person per day, 4 people travelling.
I don't think i have time to shop in orlando as I'm only there 4 days and am gna visit the theme parks. So maybe ill do premium outlets north and south in LV as I'm there for 6 days.
Which theme park in disney do you recommend? I can probably only visit one.
Want to go to Sea world, Universal studios, island of adventure and busch gardens tampa. But i only have 4 days in orlando.
Also looking to watch Orlando Magics Vs Chicago Bulls 8th feb, sunday at 6pm
Which theme park do you think will not need one whole day to complete and then i can go to the basketball game at 6 pm at amwaycentre, so around 4.30pm got to leave the theme park. Keep in mind that that day is a sunday and got to keep in mind the queue. Is it possible?
Do you think i can do universal's Island of adventure and universal studios orlando together in one day or one day each is good?

Also in vegas do you know which shooting range there is recommended? Im looking to shoot some guns there :s13:

Weekdays at Orlando the outlets close at 11pm.
After going to Vegas outlet u kinda know what u want to see would take all day. Few hours after leaving the park will suffice

Sea world is a disappointment to me, the one on San diego so much better. Sunday game park will be busy.

If u plan to ride thrilling rides again and again universal or islands of adv u cannot fit into a day. Go thru the site and see how many rides u want to take. Get the express pass and est 15-30 min wait time on weekend. Fast pass really need a lot of planning

Vegas range, see below for the major range and cost (weapons). There is only one on the strip
http://www.vegasinc.com/business/2013/jan/15/where-shoot-guns-las-vegas/

Budget on food is 250 per person per day! If so its easy. 6 days in Vegas try one buffet and the rest go for those big name places. U decided where to stay in Vegas?

Any reliable US tour agencies to recommend? I come across Tours4fun, Taketours etc. Any reviews?

Reliable they should be reliable don't think they will run away your money.
Used 2 by my family members years ago, like all tours chop chop u don't get to linger and can miss out lesser known scenic place. Touch the highlights and go

Zuji vs Expedia vs Direct hotel booking?

Hi, I recently compared the rates quoted for online hotel booking at Bellagio (deluxe fountain view) for the same 5 nights and the rates were:

Zuji - S$1373
Expedia - S$1499
Bellagio - S$1555 (USD$1169 x 1.33)

Can I get some advice if Zuji is still reliable these days or should I go with Expedia or directly with the hotel?

I will prefer to transact online to maximize the credit card miles/points and I understand that direct hotel bookings are often offline even though one may have provided the credit card information online. Correct me if I'm mistaken. Thanks.

Used Zuji for both my flight and hotel bookings on my previous trip to US. Had no issues at all.

In fact, I cancelled two hotel bookings with Zuji (due to a better deal available on Hotwire) and they promptly refunded the amount back to my credit card within a week.
