You are being diplomatic in this issue, and i like it. Many take sides here, so for a hard truth.….If China is so vulnerable, why don’t the American sanctions them like what they did to Iran & NK? China too big or too important for that? The American housewives will be the first to protest all the way to DC for lacking cheap Chinese made kitchen utensils!!

Singapore is in this predicament because of the head on confrontation. When elephants fight, the nearby trees and bushes trampled first.

I think they’re symbiotic but embarrassed to admit. American economy cannot function without made in China products (including American companies), China cannot survive without American investment.

china is a major market for german cars and machinery

usa also got a lot of exports to china boeing planes and semiconductor equipment
these industries got a lot of lobbyist, more so than retailers like walmart buying stuff from china

Not sure where u got the news but US is not a major exporter to China for semi conductor equipment, even before the sanctions.
