I am looking to pick up some aapl shares too. is the current price too high or can I go in to keep it for the long term (like 5-20 years if possible) because I heard apple give out dividends fairly frequently.

I queued for 109 on the day before apple announced its earning but not successful.

oh well... i dont think u should enter now. though may project appl to hit $125, $128 or even $130.

my buddy interested to buy appl and alibaba leh. but he asking me whats the cheapest way to buy into it. considering the comission and currency xchange rate.

amount is around 20k SGD.

if use scb is like 0.025%. equals to $50sgd charged. and wide currency spread.


lets take out IB because of the monthly fee etc.

etrade , thinkorswim, optionexpress good? tot the rate is flat 1 amount $?

Etrade's fine but you'll get charged an FX spread there as well (less than Stanchart but not much less). IB's got a nice mix of the tightest FX spreads and the lowest commissions, and the amount you'd pay in commissions alone at ETrade ($20) is two months' worth of IB fees.

Yes, I use SCB, I exchanged my SGD to USD at a good rate compare to now.
1 or 2 if it's those $100++ stock
5-10 if it's less than $100++ stock

My US monthly Dividend is about $50, not much but can pay handphone bill, internet bill liao.

It just broke it's 3 month upward support at around $148.
On a 6 month SMA basis, it is right on the support line which it hasn't fallen below since July 31st 2014.

Basically, it 'looks' like a downward trend, so it's coming back.

But I see it bounce off this $140+ level as it's suppose to, if you draw a line for all it's major support since 2012.
It has not fallen by this magnitude since july-august 2013, so I doubt it has much more to fall barring any big news.

Of course it's just a opinion. What's your opinion?

BTW, there is nothing to FA about BRK.B
