I'm not a financially literate person, reading the Financial statement is not my forte, digesting other people's thesis is what I prefer.

It's because you only listen, never digest.
Read seeking alpha again, especially those with 101 different opinion(including both bull and bear) on one counter de.
Understand what they are saying is only the first part.

They can dissect 1 counter better than you ever can because some of them are devoted to that particular counter, highly concentrated, and run through the numbers.
If you think you can concentrate on one counter better than them, think again. A lot of them are retired and have all the time in the world to piece together a companies' financial statement even better than you or me ever can.
And that's just 1 of them. There are easily 20 financial dudes there doing this concentration thing on that particular counter.
You talk about cherry picking 800 companies by you alone, but they have 20 of them who will find 20 different method to dissect a single counter. I dunno about u, but if you think you can do better than them, go ahead.

And I don't listen to any particular one person, I read through as much as I can, I don't pick sides, I pick the one which resonates most strongly with the facts I see.

Seriously, go try it.

Lastly, I don't follow, I pick.

Who you call shifu? I'm only 2 year+ in the market. Nowhere near shifu. Anyway, thank for the counter, will study it. Looks juicy but I have so many energy counter, need to see which one to replace.

IEP has a support at $90 level, if want to enter, will aim around that price.

Brent at $58.

EPS $0.82 misses by $0.09. Red opening expected.
Revenue 1.29B(-22.3% y/y) misses by 400m.

PNNT investment up 1.1% after analyst upgrade.
Hitting $9.

Bank shares are up UBS, C, WFC, JPM, BAC after job report, possible mid year rate hike.

its just a temporary rebound... anyway im holding PBR for long term (because its so cheap)

FB,
LB,
and DIS

(sold puts - roughly means I have a positive view of the stocks)

Both FB and LB hit the bottom of their trendlines (daily chart) and DIS is a terrific stock to hold.

Diversifying into new stocks that I do not have. After seeing punisher's stock list, realised i am too concentrated.. almost all my capital in AAPL...

Too bad, not many people play US market in this forum. If not it will be interesting to see each other's long term play. Trading US market would be very tiring.

My list is not very good de, too diversified. I'm trying to consolidate too, but everytime I look left is KO, DIS, KMI, look right is PEP, BRK.B, OHI, look up is AAPL, GILD, JNJ... All looks good leh, how to trim?

Btw, your LB seems interesting, a long term upward trend in last 5 year. Will read up more.

Banks goes up, Reits comes down. Just a job growth report already can spark mini correction. When Rate hike really comes, what would the impact be?

Long term wise, I will always emphasise on these 4 - AAPL, BRKB, SPY and GOOG (first 2 vested). Went into BRKB a few times in Dec and Jan due to the selldown periods. Once I had hit my portfolio quota for these 2, I will move slowly towards SPY.

Non-US but still a US share (or rather ETF) to hold long term will be VEA (vested).

O, OHI, HCP all down, interesting to keep watch as these 3 can become long term dividend king when the rate hike is done and dusted.
