Ok guys (and gals). I went about the entire procedure earlier today.

Place: QCD Singapore = Funan level 5

Took Q... waited 15mins
Shown them the 3rd party charger: can change body only.
Can keep the power plug head... (if yours is the separate-able type)... no need to give them the cord.
Bring along any ipod ior ipad. I bought a ipod to change for a ipad charger (body)

Was told... $18 (my goodness... disputed with them why so expensive, thought it's USD 10 bah bah bah...) for the exchange. they will keep the old one. BUTTTT... here's the catch... it comes with 3 months warranty AND you CANNOT get the replacement on the spot.
Can get it 3 days later only as they do not keep stock for replacement...
The whole process... ding dong ding dong... 30 mins

So... went next door shop NUBOX or something...
the same original apple charger body thingy - 2.1A type for ipad selling for $28, 1 year warranty.

So... you decide whether you can go through these hassles for the whole process. :s22:

Wow, $18 is expensive. US$10 is equivalent to at most S$13 only.

I guess this QCD is only an authorized shop by Apple & not Apple themselves, hence i believe they can 'up' the price to absorbed any administrative cost incurred to QCD.

Singapore. What do you expect!

Maybe its to pacify those electrocuted or burnt by exploding iPhone in China. Here, not that attractive exchange program

the only reason why this exchange programme fail is because singapore do not have an official Apple Store here.

if Apple open one such store here, all 3rd party store will close down.

actually......if I want to use this program ...is not becos of the safety thing.
But a excuse to change lousy/cheap "fake" lookalike apple apple adapter to a real better adapter at a discount price. But if the cost after take back our adapter is $18.....then why should we trade in? And at $18 they earn until don want earn leh....

in the end this program to clear their adapter stock......bluff us that they concern abt our safety.

If I rem correctly original price is $28 right?
