1.45 maybe got chance, but 1.5 by year end? Sounds a bit difficult.

Care to share your thoughts?

See my earlier call of 1.43 on 21 Oct. Is not too long ago.
Volatility will rise

Fed hasn't met and Janet Yellen wasn't sacked.... yet. Wait for it :s13:
She cannot be except through impeachment and removal from office. (Not going to happen without both parties agreeing, in case you're wondering. It requires a 2/3rds vote in the Senate for conviction, and the opposition party controls 48% of the Senate. So it's not going to happen unless Yellen commits some unimaginably grave crime.) She serves a four year term ending on February 3, 2018. Assuming Yellen wants to complete her term (safe assumption), the President, subject to Senate confirmation, cannot install a new Federal Reserve Chairman until then. The President and Senate also have the option of keeping her on for a second term, again assuming Yellen wishes to stay on.

There are several key U.S. government officials that are quite independent by design and who serve terms that do not coincide with presidential terms. The "Article III" federal judges -- that's most federal judges -- serve for life. President Trump will get to appoint many, and it's almost a certainty that several of his judicial appointments will outlive Trump himself while still serving as judges.

Yup. Yellen is legally unsackable.
To pick another example, the FBI Director serves a 10 year term. James Comey, the current FBI Director, can stay in office until September 4, 2023. That's well after the next presidential election in 2020. It's quite possible he'll serve under three presidents.

That said, if the Republican Congress decides it wants to impeach and remove Comey from office, Senate Democrats might go along with that. (House Democrats don't really matter for these purposes. Impeachment only requires a majority vote in the House, and Republicans hold a majority. The Senate needs a 2/3rds vote to convict. Removal then requires another 2/3rds vote.) Why? Comey committed the grave sin of inserting himself in the political process during the presidential race. He violated Justice Department guidelines, and he's certainly not popular among Democrats...or among Republican legal circles, for that matter. He'll still need to do something broadly acknowledged as gravely bad, again, to lose his job prematurely. Since he's done so once, it's hard to have complete confidence he won't again.

When everyone thinks it will go up even higher, it's already too late to buy.

I don't know if it's already too late, but I know you already miss the best price.
