VEP is to allow Malaysia customs to scan your vehicle when you exit JB, to flag out if you have any outstanding summons. Another function of VEP is to integrate with Touch&Go so that you can go through the Smart Tag lane without winding down your window.

Unfortunately VEP only works in custom tolls... everywhere else you still need to flash your touch and go card

It’s useful to MY authorities to automatically flag you out and force you to pay your fines before leaving their country, we are driving in foreign land and we have to follow whatever policy they got

If they are persistent in enforcing this VEP policy it’s a matter of time before VEP becomes mandatory for all foreign vehicles entering JB.

Then they better think of a "good plan" for foreign vehicles to be able to collect this before entering, if you get what I mean?

No worries there’s no deadline yet and I doubt it will ever be implemented. 2nd link toll no longer shows “MyVEP” signboard after DrM took the office.

Currently only some toll at KL or Klang, i dun rmb and 1 counter at CIQ can use RFID.

Pretty useless for now. Im not gonna topup the ewallet.

The rfid tag they will paste at top centre of ur windshield. They will use a handheld scanner to scan test before u leave the activation centre.

The rfid tag is super small. Abt as big as a packet of mcd chilli sauce

I was told... the VEP tag probably will only be used at customs.

Touch&Go has their own RFID rags, Plus also has their own tags and they are not compatible with one another.

If I receive the RFID collection email I’ll probably will delay the collection til it’s mandatory to get it installed
