dec.....still planning....dates nt known yet...

when i went hcm last year end, hostel help a lot on bookings for tours, train tickets etc also....

so diy free n ez trip to vietnam is not so difficult i would say....

2 weeks....think can try squeeze in Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Danang, Hue....you can have north and central covered! if i have 2 weeks, my whole budget including tours, airfare, food, accomodation will est to be to $1500 - $2000....should be more than enuff?, more is better than less...consider budget for airfare and accomodatn of coz.....

so when u go liao, please come back report here...haha...since i go dec...

When To Go To Vietnam

What you have are three principal seasons, hot, rainy and cold, with variations in temperature and the rainfall across the various regions of the country.

Vietnam is a country with widespread differences in the altitude and there arises temperature and seasonal variations in the climate of the various regions due to this reason. Thus in the mountainous regions of the country you have relatively cooler climates and the temperatures during the winter can plummet below the freezing point. In the northern part of Vietnam, the winter months from November to April are cold and clammy and the summers are hot (the summer months are from May to October), but bearably so.

If your Vietnam vacations are in the southern part of the country, avoid the sweltering summer season from end-February to May. Down south, the wettest months are from June to August, and these are definitely not the best time to visit Vietnam. December to April is dry around these parts.

If you are wondering when to go to Vietnam, forget about the months from July to November. These are the typhoon months and you stay steer clear off them.

Plan your tours to Vietnam with a consideration to the Vietnamese seasons. After all, you wouldn’t want the rains to play the spoilsport or the tropical storms tearing down your itinerary.

Depends on where u going in Vietnam... HCMC is like SG weather. In north like Hanoi mid sept is still warm n humid, very humid..... I will suggest if u coming north, then come during after mid Oct when the weather turns cooler.
