budget airline got no direct.

only sq/silkair. but it's damn expensive.
else you need to take vietair but there's a stopover, so it will take roughly 7-8hours for the entire journey. cost should be roughly 300+

fly to HCM first then take vietjet air which cost abt sgd $100. my vietbu friend pre-book this flight with her friend who work in tour agency. but i see this price is just few dollar cheaper than book directly from VJ website. basically its not really cheap even for a 45min domestic flight.

traveling from hanoi I assume.

combine halong bay/sapa. find a tour operator who can arrange that or just depend on the one from your hotel.

if you have shortlisted a tour operator (from reading TA for example), google "name of operator" +hotel . might be cheaper that way but definitely less hassle.

I do not want a tour that help me plan everything. I love the planning part. Haha.

Went last Sep, my return flight was 1.8million dong which is less than S$110.

now can take bus to sapa liao cause they just opened a new highway.

The thing is the bus starts at around 6pm and stops at Hanoi late night. Like that we have to stay over a night at a Hotel. Not very cheap also.

8.20am is not early. Shops are already open, especially in the marketplaces. Most of the local tours have already set out.
