HCM is good for a short getaway.Better and cheaper than bangkok. fly there sat morn , come back sun night.

Explore city on first day ad visit cuchi on second day morning.

BKK sibei boring unless you like to see temples and shop.

touristy area obviously. especially for females when they busy choosing their bags or clothes etc is always targeted cause they are not careful

they tend to tail you also so if u see the same person face a few times just be more careful

Even though the distance between Hanoi and HCM isn't that far. But don't know why the flight ticket to Hanoi can be about double the price to HCM.

Quite far. The temp is so different. HCM is so hot.

Same in bkk too. Especially when you take public bus. If someone offered you their seats, do be careful. They works in team. And will sit beside you and pickpocket you without you realising. Happened to my male friend. And they replaced the emply wallet back into his pant pocket without him realising.

i see ... very typical area where it's easier for them to operate. it happens in many other countries as well.

Dust/mud.. Damn bad. Everything white is in brown as well as the food. People are generally friendly.

I went during their "winter" period. No snow

where did you go (hcm, hanoi etc) and what food have you tried?

My friend said his phone got pickpocketed in JB on a public bus. Don't know if they work in teams.

Try going to Hanoi rather than HCM ba for scenery and weather.

I went to Hanoi in Dec, very cool weather. Try extending to Halong Bay and Sapa. I flew by SQ cos the difference is only $300+ more than Vietair for 4pax. We went free and easy and didn't spend much on the tour. Food was cheap.

The Halong Bay 2D1N Fanteasea curise only USD85 per pax and return overnite train to Sapa is around USD75 per pax (4 beds in a "room"). Hotel less than USD40 per nite for family room.

Our small children enjoy the trip too.
