for domestic flight like vietjet going to nha trang/ danang from hcm, what time before the flight must one be at the airport?

it's the same airport that scoot/ jetstar land right?

just follow the standard check-in 2hrs before flight time.

Departure and arrival same building just different level

Is the arrival and departure interlinked?

Am taking scoot to HCM, then a separate domestic vietjet to Danang with 2hr+ buffer on the same day. Don't recall the last time I went HCM, their arrival and departure is connected.

Also any good to go places (not necessary attraction sites) to visit in Danang?

bana hill, hue , hoi an , beach, dragon bridge will rotate at night , breathe fire at weekend or something

The transit area for TSN international airport and domestic airport are not linked.
You need to come out completely from TSN international airport and walk ALL the way to the right side. It is paved don't worry. And then you will come to a very small airport.

Once you passed the main entrance, the counter on the immediate left is the check-in & booking counter for vietjet.
The rest of the steps follow as norm.

The "custom" is very simple...
Look at passport, look at boarding pass.. then scan luggage
After that you will be in the main waiting area... usually PACKED with people.

If you been to those domestic airports in Thailand and Indonesia... it's very similar

I am in danang now.

730am Airasia flight to KL
Board at T4. Took off 5 mins earlier than scheduled. Reached KLIA around 840

And then just walk over to the P region. Not far away... only 5 min slow walk

Connecting Flight to Da Nang was delayed 1 hour though as it's a different air Asia plane. The flight was the 2nd earliest flight from SG but there was a big delay there...
Supposed to take off 945am but took off at 1045am

This is the main reason why I always wanna take the earliest flight. Imagine if your flight is delayed by 1hour...then the rest of your connecting flights are screwed or if you have made any scheduled plans are screwed.

Reached Da Nang international airport around 1245pm ( vn time)

Maybe it was the offpeak season, not many people at customs. Took only 5 mins.

Right after the customs counter... a WHOLE row and I mean a WHOLE ROW of counters selling prepaid sim cards and taxi service to hotel

Comparing this connecting experience to the one which involve domestic flight..

Going through KLIA is SOOOOO much better. Imo

for me... the weather now is like Hong Kong and Taichung. cooling and just nice. I walked around Da Nang in just T-shirt and jeans.

but I will still recommend to standby a windbreaker, just in case it rains. these few days Danang very cloudy and windy.

another thing... you will see ALOT of Korean and China tourists. highly recommend to avoid speaking in chinese, just in case the locals think you are from China and just increase the price of everything by 5 times. best to speak in a little bit of vietnamese (If you can)

oh! and one more thing I forgot to share... the Airasia flight to Danang, the inflight meals and inflight shopping all charge in Ringgit, so go ahead and pre-order the inflight meal combo. only 15RM!!!!!

never ask your vietnam friend to help negotiate price at your presence
need anything just quietly tell your friend and ask him/she to go get it alone.
is a total different mentality :D

yes... need... Vietnamese can get their bank to deposit the amount (they can't use it) in order to apply the Visa for some fee :)

interesting. That's a way to work around lol. Any idea of the fee?

Visa for China may not need to check bank account.

Does anyone find vietnamese people to be more laidback and easygoing than PRCs? I know there are many ripoffs in vietnam but most of the locals and reputable tour agencies are generally ok and won't force you to buy anything

on the other hand, tiongs only care about $$$ and status and always got hidden motives like forcing tourists to buy stuff

That is why i like visitng vietnam even though it is less developed than china.
