The flight to HCMC is quite short only 2 hours.
Usually for such short flights I'll just choose a reliable low cost airline which suits my timing.

I would be more concerned if it was a 5, 6 hour or longer flight.

Agree, most would opt for budget airline, since the prices might be below $100
for full fledged, usually their promo fare by SQ is about $188 onwards ...

given vn airline and SQ, would usually opt for Singapore Airline instead
bigger aircraft, more comfortable ...
Since vn airline do uses a321 for their sin to hcm route ...

yup, SQ timing 940am 1.30pm 5.25pm on Sin to hcm route
usually would fly the 1.30pm timing
Hcm to Sin would usually take the 15.55pm timing ...

For budget airline, if flying jetstar, fly back on sunday, they usually put promo fare on the 855am and 705am flight.
kinda early, have to rush all the way from hotel to airport , managed to eat the hotel breakfast at 6am , rush to airport for the 855am flight ...

Stayed at eden stars saigon 4* hotel that time, luckily we went down 5.50am, they already open the dining area, with few ang moh just arrived also ...
but some of the things they still preparing, so just take whatever that are available to us ...

But don't expect much, its just some muffin & buns but better than nothing cuz the cafes & food stalls at the hcmc airport sometimes only open at 7am

But nowadays if I need to take a super early flight from hcmc to Hanoi the next day, I will just stay at Ibis TSN airport hotel. I can just walk over to domestic airport within 5 mins

Normally wont ask hotel to pack breakfast ...
those "packed breakfast" usually is one small sandwich, fruit, packet drinks lol...

eden star saigon breakfast choice not bad ... not as perfect as bigger hotels such as new world though ... stayed several 3* hotels before, most of them only have 5 to 6 dish for breakfsat only ... some even looked like our econ mixed rice ...

don't expect a big spread of choices, but at least the quality is good and tasty.

was kinda disappointed, since there isnt western choice for breakfast
few hotels that have stayed in, their breakfast only fried vege, fried meat (like our mixed econ rice), meatball noodle soup, baguette ...

cant really expect much, since some of their 3* hotels only have 20 to 50 rooms...
have stayed at other 3* hotels with 120 rooms, their breakfast choice is great !!!

not like western style with baked beans, hash brown, baked potato, ham, sausages, scrambled eggs etc .... Stayed in few 3* hotels in other countries such as taiwan, bkk, hongkong, malaysia, Singapore, they at least have some western breakfast selections ...
