changing in vietnam airport is good enough... there are several money changers in the airport... take your time to compare the rate... jus ignore them when they keep on asking u to exchange with them... usually the one with highest rates will have queue...

:s12::s12::s12:

Am i right to say it is the international airport that you are referring to? Hmm btw the money changers are located at the arrival hall is it? Any1 happen to know wad time they are open coz will be arriving early morning worried they may not be open. ;)

its not the money.. its the availability of rooms if you are travelling in december.. :D

Would we also face the same problem of lack of availability of rooms if we are looking at hostels? Thanks for your advice.:D

I think it doesn't differ much where you change money. Unless you change $10K, you only gain/lose 2,3$ max when you exchange around 500$.

You can change at any jewelry store. They all follow bank exchange rate.

Hi-ya!, what i usually do is change maybe 20sgd to vn dong at the airport(just for the taxi fare as normally the taxi fare to District 1 is around max 12 sgd, due to the crazy traffic jam nowadays). Most of the time i will change my money at Goldsmith's shop around Cho Ben Thanh Market..the goldsmith's shop is along Pho 2000 give a better rates or maybe you can walk around othe goldsmith's and ask.

Enjoy!

ya i also would like to know the operating hours of airport money changers as arriving in hcm at 7am.
i think it should be around that time. If you land at 7am, expect to go through custom and take luggage 30 mins later, the exchange counter should be open by that time.
