What you wanna try?Any nice food to recommend in D1?
1. if you lost the sim card, you cannot have it back (because it's not registered under your IC so nothing to prove), so you will lose all balance foreverMy sim card is also under someone else name. I bought the sim card from a market stall, but later went to vinaphone authorised centre to change to 4G. But now in the app, it showed a viet guy name. But as long can use, i don't bother.
What you wanna try?

2. if that unknown Viet guy some day went to the telco shop, showing his IC, then he can take back your number and he will get all of your balance on the sim card, you will still lose all of your balance forever
that unknown Viet guy does not need to know your number either, he just need to have his own IC and nothing else and still he will own everything
worse, that unknown Viet guy can even track your call records (because he is the proper and legitimate and legally-recognized OWNER of your sim card, while you are not)

Cheap food cheap beer.
You can order a whole table of seafood, clam, oyster, crab, prawn and probably use only one big blue note
Mark wiens recommendations are decent affordable local dishes. But most of it look like single person portion

Change to local currencies. Not sure which thread to post, but I’m planning trip to Laos > Vietnam Hanoi down to HCM > Cambodia Phnom Penh siem reap OVER LAND.
Anybody done this route before can offer any genera tips? Still working on exact itinerary so open to suggestions
Is USD generally accepted or really need to change all these currencies? Change all in sg before going or at each stop? I’ll be at bus and train stns not airport so dunno if can change or not. Also thinking to use data passport as probably not worth getting so many SIM cards
Thanks!if there’s another thread for this pls direct me too

Explore the small lanes
The food stalls you find there are patronized by the local community since they were young. And it's great that you have the stomach to try such food. Many travellers I see in Vietnam just try the usual pho, banh mi, spring roll, bun cha

The best one in Vietnam is the Uber / Grab. Very easy to use and so affordable.
