Rode a scooter in Ninh Binh, fell, dislocated my elbow and shoulder. Got surrounded by people who spoke 0 English, and made my own way to hospital where again no one spoke English and gave 0 hoot about my clearly dislocated arm. What an adventure

In the end managed to get them to pop my elbow and shoulder back.. put temp cast.
My guesthouse owner was a very helpful guy, helped me flag a Hanoi-bound bus at 3am.. scooted back to SG the following day, straight to A&E.
Now ok liao... Elbow still cranky but I guess it takes weeks to fully recover...?

It would have been wise to learn some basic Vietnamese before doing things that regular tourists would not do. They don't owe it to us to learn English.

I didn't complain about them not understanding me - on the contrary I know it's entirely my fault for doing something stupid. When in a country where English is not the native language, naturally you should not expect anyone to speak English.
And I don't know what level of basic Vietnamese you are talking about - I think I would have to learn Vietnamese for at least 1 or 2 months before I'm able to communicate what I was trying to say in the hospital, and to understand what they were trying to say.

It's just my observation about how the situation was and how different it is over there vs here - an eye opening experience though not one I would want to go through again
I felt for the people in the hospital because I can see that healthcare was really poor even in a general hospital - people were pushing their own sick relatives in the bed around, not nurses.
While I was waiting for my screwed up arm and shoulder, someone died in the room beside me, and there was a lot of wailing and crying. So I figured my arm was like the least serious condition over there

Not very those adventures person. So wat can I do there other than trying out the food, chilling at their road side cafe n chill at roof top bar?

I'm doing that tomorrow! But will be meeting my vietnamese friend later on who will be bringing me to Phu Quoc and all over HCMC

last time Vietnam airlines have direct flight from singapore to Phu Quoc about 200 SGD only, but dont know why they remove the flight.
So now need to go HCMC and than to phu qouc.

I'm doing that tomorrow! But will be meeting my vietnamese friend later on who will be bringing me to Phu Quoc and all over HCMC
