anyone here has done 1 day vung tau day trip? its a beach near hcmc city right?
friends and i are thinking of doing but the ones we've seen are mainly just bus tickets that don't include guided tour and transportation ard the island.. we plan to go in december

is it safe to book tours fr sinh cafe only when we reach?
how to get taxis fr airport to hotel? how much shd we prepare?

You have two options of going to vung tau, 1) by bus (2 and half hour) or 2) by boat (45mins)

Vung Tau City is pretty small compared to Saigon and its a primarily a commercial seaport function. i'll check for you if a guided tour to vung tau is available or not.

yes, u can book tours the Day before at sinhcafe for the next day open tours.

Hi ALL, I am going to HCMC Jan 09 with tigerair for about 200 per pax (2 nights only). I think this forum is very gd, but will not be able to see the 80 pages here one by one.

1. Need direct advise of hotels, convenient, clean and nice (budget is about S$80-150)

2. I heard from my friend that you can find local tour for less than S$20 per day? where and how?

3. If I go F&E, I will go to the war site, historical musemn and a bit of shopping. Of course is to eat and eat their local delicacy.

4. Any suggestable itininary?

Pls advise!

But I noticed that the charter is on the steep side would finding my own transport be better? Cause if just the 4 of us from HCMC to Dalat is 250 sgd... then we still need to move on to nha trang (if that is the standard pricing for the taxis) and back!

Speaking of which, is there a schedule for train from nha trang to hcmc?

Any others got input with regards to travel from hcmc to dalat?

Would domestic flights be cheaper?

Its price for a Airport Pick up + One Way Private Transfer to Dalat by a Seven Seater Car (not taxi)

However, i'll try and see what other the domestic airfares available and advice you as soon as i can as the price for December are not out yet at the moment at the ticketing side..

Frankly if you ask me only the private beaches in nha trang are great. else it tends to be quite crowded. Mui Ne is also decent.

Hoi An's beach is quite relaxing, not too many people. About 20 mins by bicycle.

er.. only 4* resorts in nha trang have their own private beaches...and they dun come cheap..

Accomodation and Airfare for a 04 nights and domestic airlines two way is not possible for December for S$250/person.. unless u are planing to travel on bus and staying in back packers style or motels. for HCMC+Vungtau u might just make it as its the cheapest among the 3 in terms of transportation and accomodation costs.

i understand there are also rouge taxis in vietnam, just like any other major cities, and read that reputable taxis are "safer", as in no tampered meter, no extra unknown surcharges, or touting for fixed fee rides etc, am i right?

theres no factory outlet in Ho Chi Minh..the closest ones you might come across are the ones in Saigon Square..

Same here. I am thinking of going either Phuket or HCM. I have been to Phuket but not HCM. I think Asia room got more cheap room for Phuket then HCM. Thinking of going on 10/10 to 13/10. (mainly for the cheap airticket)

If you plan on going to Halong Bay, you'll need to stay 01 night there.

Your schedule would be like -

Day 1 Arrival -> transfer to Halong Bay
Day 2 Halong Bay Tour, - > Back to Hanoi
Day 3 Departure

or
Day 1 Arrival, Hanoi
Day 2 Hanoi
Day 3 Depature
